waste of knowledge and expertise is currently being exhibited by Menelaus on here.
Any benefit or usefulness of his posting on this forum is being overwhelmed by the blizzard of personal conflicts he has created with everybody on everything.
He has become so vindictive and personally abusive to all and sundry, that he has become a character to be ridiculed by all.
What a shame and what a waste and what a bore.
Is there any way he can be persuaded either to change his ways or to move on to other "soft" targets to abuse ?
This has all become a complete waste of everybody's time  on here, and he is slowly but surely totally destroying the forum as a two way platform for polite and civilised exchange of general financial ideas and thoughts between persons of varying degress of expertise and sophistication in financial matters.

You aren't funny Melly. You aren't that bright and you clearly aren't as wealthy or as successful as you make out. No wonder you are so full of bile.

EO
Successful professional investors are often left amazed and bewildered that the markets do not act as they technically expect.
They usually respond to this with a degree of grace under pressure.
Do you really see this key characteristic of success in Menelaus ?
Based on his posts on here, I see a character who responds to pressure very, very badly.

Why don't you let others (beyond the usual troll suspects that you post in a circle jerk with) decide for themselves how to feel about me?

Why do you feel compelled to bury every post I put up with your irrelevant, stupid, clueless bullsh1t you keep putting up again and again, when you clearly are not in a position to offer anything remotely intelligent and meaningful to the discussion?

Why do you feel compelled to start threads about me doing exactly what you accuse me of doing, berating someone?

If you ever posted anything remotely intelligent, remotely pertinent with a sliver of originality on here, please point me to it because I missed it. And I have news for you, those "experts" that you hope someday show up to refute my views because you are a complete halfwit unable to think on your own, don't exist. There are not there. Those who do exist, know what I know and what your two functioning brain cells are unable to process. A ponzi scheme someday ends. Always.

It is *YOU* who is shameless, not I.

A shameless hypocrite who threw away any semblance of integrity and decided to make someone a target on here because he called out your epic ignorance.

I hope you feel it was all worth it.

Your reply is simply proving my point.
You are absolutely incapable of accepting that your views are not universally accepted as being unconditionally correct.
If they were, then believe me the " banking cartel" and " the complicit, controlled media" you continuously refer to, would not be capable of hiding such basic, theoretical economic "truths" from so many for such a long time ( essentially since the world monetary system was restructured to go off the gold standard).
Common sense and market reality prevails in my world.

Btw I think that most others have already clearly decided how they feel about you, simply by disappearing in droves from  here and not even bothering to post any comments ( good or bad) at all.
They have become disgusted with your hysterical, crude rants.
You have destroyed the forum.
Congratulations for whatever that is worth to you.
I don't think I have ever felt sorrier for the personal angst of a fellow poster.
I can only conclyde that your private life must be in a real mess, inorder to come up with any feasible explanation for your sad and pathetic behaviour.

Even if the corn flake packet is empty in the morning I picture Melly as a somewhat angrier version of the Mad As Hell And I'm Not Gonna Take it Any More character played I think by Peter Finch.

I can't begin to imagine his boiling rage when his trades go awry.
Report Eeternaloptimist November 15, 2012 12:43 AM GMT
I wouldn't even begin to seriously get into it any more with him. He is both mad and an idiot and the rest of humanity will not be able to tell the difference if you sink to his level and given his idiot savant nature he will win anyway.

You're absoutely right EO.
He's essentially a lost cause.
At some point in time, you have to start to question your own intelligenge to keep on engaging with him in any manner at all.
You and I are pretty much about the last men standing in that respect. ( I think Muqbil and Bongo might in fact be the only ones who could be truly described as a remaining public follower/supporters of him, and even they have to tread very warily when talking to him ).

P.S. You chaps should stop playing with each others winnie, you'll go blind besides being utterly stupid.

The shame has just been compounded by what went down with the dishonoured bet episode with UB on the AAPL thread.
Why do weak people always find it so difficult to admit their mistakes and just apologize?
Why do they always make things worse by trying to alter the facts or weasle their way out of the matter?.
It happens always in politics and now it has happened on this forum with Menelaus.
Report Menelaus November 15, 2012 8:16 PM GMT
What part of dog sh1t.........oh, feck it, never mind, I'm getting tired of watching the snake eat his own tail.
Report FINE AS FROG HAIR November 15, 2012 8:48 PM GMT
Menelaus has quite clearly proved( on what I will now on refer to as the " applegate " affair), that he is pathologically incapable of admitting that he can and does on occasion makes errors in judgement.
If he is incapable of admitting that on such a matter as minor as "applegate", isn't it logical to assume that he is just as incapable of admitting it on everything else, most relevantly in his long winded, repetitiive discourses on the economic future of the world.
Now any one of you on here is fully entitled to believe unquestionably all that he posts.
But I think it would be more prudent for you to consider taking my line of thought.
Which is that whilst Menelaus has undoubtedly gone many things right in his analyses, he most certainly has not got it all right.
And more to the point he is not really honestly posting all that is known ion these matters, not even probably all that he knows on these matters, but most probably only the snippets that he has decided most suit his personal interests for you to know.
Just be aware that's all I'm saying. He's not really a person you can unconditionally trust to be acting in your best interests.

I made exactly that point some time ago. He has to be right every time or he will mentally collapse. Which is why I took great pleasure in unravelling just the one strand.

That's all it took and it is still burning him all this time later. Laugh

My analysis from a long time ago is that Menelaus has divorced from his wife, and
his two daughters live with their mother. Since then he has lost everything and
spend a quite deal of his time on this forum and act very desperate and destructive.
Everyone who get caught in his net is a victim IMO. Anyhow, I think he should put
on a straight jacket and go to the christmas meeting, just to get out of the house.

Poor Melly. Still clinging desperately to what is left of his sanity. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him. Chatlame could be right. A man who has lost everything is a desperate specimen.

I'm having a bit of a rethink about him.
He quite obviously has a serious personality disorder. Clearly he is not playing with a full deck in that regard.
However I'm a bit concerned that we may in fact be pushing him in the wrong direction in all this.
Maybe we could let him carry on with the illusion that everything he is posting is being regarded by most ( if not all) as highly regarded fact, and not just well argued personal opinion.
I'm afraid that if we don't do this, and keep pushing his personality disorder buttons,  he might well have some serious psychotic breakdown, and run amok in some serious manner either in his workplace or in his home or his neigbourhood.
I'm not joking on this.
His posts are becoming increasingly manic and quite worrying.
It's all very well to say that you post on here anonymously and take all the consequences, but is that entirely appropriate in all cases ?.
Surely exceptions can and should be made.
If ever there was a good case for an exception, this is clearly it.
Report Eeternaloptimist November 15, 2012 11:11 PM GMT
We've certainly reached an interesting point where a moral dilemma rears into view:

Do we continue to ridicule this most ridiculous of specimens and if so does that make us any better than the Victorians who routinely visited the asylums to laugh at the inmates as a form of entertainment?

Melly may be our very own window licker but is it right that we allow him to humiliate himself so?

I must confess to being torn on the issue.
Report Eeternaloptimist November 15, 2012 11:15 PM GMT
But on the other side of the argument he is a most unpleasant individual with no redeeming features for whom no debauched pronouncements are beyond utterance.

Does it demean us to demean someone so vile?
