Why the drop of almost 2p per share(c5%)in the last month ??
Will this fund ever recover from crash around 5 years ago ? Or am I best to take the investment elsewhere ?

I don't know, but more importantly if you don't know why it fell then it might be time to move it somewhere, the general rule is that past performance or what you paid should have no bearing on evaluating your position.
