So last time i got beat up when i shorted the dow at 11600,  initially it went down to 11400 and i was laughing, then it wooshed up to 12000, since then i have been sitting on the sidelines. But now i think the time has come to give shorting another go, my observations are that markets love round numbers, so looking for resistance at 1350 on S&P and then 13,000 on dow will be strong mental resistance imo.

Doesn't seem like a great time to go short to me tbh. Probably a Greek deal will get cobbled together and the markets will rise.

Hi Pieere, its certainly a ballsy call ATM. Your definitly not on your own thinking markets will fall.I read a report this week stating that net option positions were 75% short AUD, with a recent peak of 96%, 84% short euro,80% short dow and similar S&P.

Apparently this has been the case for weeks so theres plenty getting slaughtered on the down side. There is an implication that there is a massive short squeeze in the euro. However one would have to say that things do appear to be improving in the US.

There is also the fact that trading volumes are still reasonably thin and that is unusual for this time of year.Apparently the retail  players are just not on in bulk and sitting on the sidelines, not trusting the rise in markets. Who knows if that is true or not.

If you short , will you wait till 13,000 or do so before hand? How wide a stop?

I'll be watching with interest and best of luck.

Anyone can regurgitate what they read in the FTs and try to sound intelligent, but there's always a tell. The above line is benny's tell.

benny, you are a moron who knows sweet feck all, copying and pasting cr@p from the business section of your morning daily.

Things are getting worse in the US, not better.

Care to debate me on it, it's time I give you another public spanking.

After today i changed my mind, everyone will be shorting at 1350 and the old bin laden high, I can't believe how high the AUD has gone again, maybe i'll short that.
By:

and that melly is why we hate you.

pieere starts a perfectly good thread and you come along to stomp all over it with your BS.

No one cares what you have to say anymore melly since your bankrupt. Why dont you just crawl away and try to get a job.

I think thats a good move pierre re SP, have you abandoned the dow trade ?

Re the AUD- commentators and economists here are sproutung the AUD will go to 1.20 by year end. That virtually guarantees that it won't.Similar to the 'gold $3000 " calls by the same types.

Shorting the AUD  though is fraught with danger ATM, as melly discovered. .Most of the markets just keep going higher and I believe that being short in the near term is not the go.

Of course things can spin on a dime at anytime but I'd rather wait. Lets us know if you get on.

I'll give it a go at 1.078 ish, its gone straight up the last 2 months, 0.99 is fair value imo, and the highs in AUD were around 1.10 ish i think.

You are a moron, a clueless mug, a colossus of ignorance that got caught again posting a massively stupid comment that you read somewhere in a comic book and decided to cut and paste on here without any analysis.

I say what you posted is EPIC fail YET AGAIN. If you think I'm wrong, debate me on it and put in my place instead of posting vile rubbish.

Well as the forum nutcase flaps around like a fish out of water I made 100pips, I halved my steak and will ride the AUD down with any luck. I don't have much belief in china or commodity stocks, if those take a nasty turn the AUD will be going down down down.

Noooo, really, you don't say !!!! What a revelation !!!! If it wasn't for you posting that none of us would have a clue that the AUD is China growth and commodities strength related.

I would have given you "post of the year" points on that EXCEPT that you missed what's really driving the AUD right now......the carry trade.

Seriously, keep your thoughts to yourself and stop embarrassing yourself on here. Laugh

You're a clown Mellyburger, i say ish because at the time the number is moving every second, China and commodities are the fundamentals for why i dont like AUD, but anyone with half a brain (obviously not you mellyburger) would see i was saying 2 months up in straight line is probably overbought and my fair value is 0.99 for now.

Sometimes you just need to keep quiet and watch and learn from the pros.

LaDouche, did you enjoy the @#*# *@# from benny?

As for the rest, keep posting "ishish" trades and claim hollow victories in your own mind. You wouldn't know "fundamentals" if they hit you in the face. You're just another in a long cue of a$$ clowns on here, and the cue unfortunately seems to be getting longer.

melly , you once again expose you total ignorance-"As for the rest, keep posting "ishish" trades "Cry

everyone who trades for real realises no number is set in concrete, ditto entry points.

You will notice NONE of the real traders mentioned "ish " as an issue.

Just you melly because, in all likelyhood you have never actually placed a trade in your life. Thats why your so confused by such concepts.

Your colossal ignorance of trading is only exceeded by boorish behaviour.
