German lower house vote expected around noon today London time (now in debate). In my opinion, there is very little chance of the Merkel NOT getting the new powers she seeks for the EU's bailout fund, and doing it WITHOUT the need to get support outside of her governing coalition. The way I'm trading this very short term is by taking long positions in the close yesterday and again into the open this morning, expecting a bounce once passage is announced. Let's see how it plays out.

Right on the vote, wrong on the market reaction. They could be just taking out longs stops but I'm not going to wait around to find out. Take the small loss and move on to the next trade.

As an aside, I never ceased to be amazed by politicians...everywhere. They express public outrage about "bad legislation that will not benefit the people" but in the end they......vote for it. Laugh
