Reasonably happy with my small haul, though half expecting more raids from the bots while oBama looks passively on (at least until the election run up) OIC.nz: a small amount for 1.81 and for an hour or two after literally the only buyer on the market, no takers though below 1.80. FBU.nz: decent buys at 7.43 and again at 7.10. NPX.nz: at 2.33 the dividend/PE just too tempting. RIO.au: just the one block at 67.10, meant to get more on the US but was literally only half awake, that's the downside from living in the nether regions of the planet, the US opens at 1.30am and closes at 8am.
I'm shocked, what happened?!?!? Did you finally get the memo from Bernanke that ipads will not be used as the next reserve currency??? Can all those analysts who tend to be conservative have it wrong??? I'm shocked, I'm shocked I tell you, is there nothing sacred any more???

Aapl still well priced at 360, but like i say, i already own a ton at lower levels, will probably add to option positions to trade though. Should be on its way to to 430 by october unless the wider market is derailed by pre election politics. Still mostly cash in the us account so looking for new ideas. A holiday sounds good but not keen on some exotic third world place like London or Mogadishu, maybe a road trip somewhere...

Wow, things must be booming where you live. Leaving a $70 (almost 20pc) expected profit on the table just a few short months from now, stay in cash and look for new ideas. I'm in awe.

You're not a buyer although you expect returns of about 20pc in the next two months but are rather sitting in cash looking for new ideas.....in this environment !!! I'm still in awe.
I could have phrased that better. You're not a buyer although you expect returns of about 20pc in the next two months but are rather sitting in cash looking for new ideas.....in this environment !!! I'm still in awe.
don't worry menelaus, not expecting any ideas from you, good, new or otherwise. not that you'd need any ideas as your cash from profits is nil. Your total cash is probably nil.

I already gave you lots of ideas, and I'm starting to get the feeling you are listening. Otherwise why abandon an expected 20pc return in the next two months to "look for new ideas"
HINT : Apple insiders have been selling

So you think you're smarter than Apple insiders fanboy? Then explain this......
Since January, Apple insiders have sold about $75M worth of stock, and there have been NO purchases. From April 2010 to November 2010, there were over $100M worth of Apple insider sales.
Why? Did they sell to buy that 3rd Ferrari they always wanted but could never afford? Why are insiders selling, not buying? Don't they read the same analysts who tend to be conservative like you that apple is going to the moon? Don't they know that broke Americans are lining up around the street to buy ipads?
They do, but they know something that you still can't grasp a-hole. Their share price, where it's come from and where it's going, has nothing to do with ipads, it never did. You better start getting down to your knees that the Chairman can step in so we can avoid this banking crisis version 3 that is unfolding otherwise it's going to be a rough ride to the bottom for everyone.
Oh, and did I mention you are an @*@*#? And don't bother responding, I won't waste another second of my valuable time setting an dimwhit, obsessed @*#@* like you straight on here.

The answer to you confusion on this is kinda obvious to anyone who has ever worked for an institution or run one (though being locked in one won't help you). I've possibly touched a nerve or two by bringing up your precarious financial situation, hope the meds get you settled down before lights out.

Was it the a-hole part that got to you or having to admit for the first time "it's overweight" (overweight at $360 !!!!! Imagine that ) barely a week after I put that post up?

oh dear menelaus, even the new girl in reception understands that basic terminology, you really don't have any financial investment experience at all, do you?

Yeah, it was the a-hole part that got to you, I thought so.....
As far as exposing illiterate goes, you better come up with something to replace your "buy apple" screams on here otherwise your reputation will be in tatters......oh, wait, never mind, it already is.

my poor, dear, sorry, sad sack menelaus, let this be your first step to financial literacy, I cut and pasted it from wikipedia but if it's still too baffling for you then let me know and I will look for something simpler. One step at a time.... Overweight — Suppose that an investor holds 15% of his/her investment in Technology stocks then, the investor's stock portfolio is 5% overweight in Technology stocks. Suppose further that the investor is advised by his broker or financial advisor that Technology should be "overweight" then, the investor is being advised to hold more investments in Technology, as a percentage, than the weight of that asset in the index/market. i.e., more than 10% by value of Technology shares in this example.

still too baffling menelaus? Imagine Thomas the Tank Engine had to pull 5 carriages! That sounds like a lot to carry, doesn't it! What shall we do to make sure the carriages don't topple over? ...... I can't be bothered finishing this story for you menelaus but do read up on your Adventures With Thomas series when mum is busy, you may learn something.
