Do I pay some financial guru to select the funds and spread the risk ? O r maybe I'd do just as well investing the shares myself...any suggestions welcome

most fund managers can't beat the index, so you will do just as well just buying a low cost ETF or picking a few good shares yourself imo.

hargreaves lansdown have 2400 funds to choose from and from those they have selected a wealth 150 which they reckon are the best funds
