Anyone have one?
thinking of transferring my boring standard life private pension across to a HL SIPP as after 15 years it's barely worth more than i've put it. At least if it goes t!ts up i've only myself to blame instead of paying someone to do it for me.
Question is does this seem a sensible idea, a little bit of a gamble but well worth doing or a stupid idea.

Confused Silly

gresty241, if you're on the beta forum and enter Hargreves Landsdown SIPP in to search function. You get quite a few comments on the HL SIPP

I've got one. Hundreds of investment options & 100% transparent.

Yep I've got one too.  I've set up a monthly direct debit in and they claim the tax back fairly efficiently.  Very low charges too.  Very easy to manage and buy/sell equities , ETFs etc on-line too.  Lots of fund discounts available.

Whilst probably not the right reason to change, every so often they offer a little present if you open an account.

I have a pru pension with about 60k in it, is it right when I die the money is theirs but with a sipp my wife will get it?

if so how easy is the transfer to a sipp?

Is Hargreaves Landown or III cheaper for this?

III definitely has the lower charges, but if you are investing mainly in funds then Hargreaves landown might end up being cheaper because I think it has the best discounts on funds (although iii also have quite a lot of discounts as well). Might want to investigate this.
