Surely, "Growth" will come an end. It may not be now or in the next 50 years, but one day it has to come to an end.

Can the economic system that we currently use provide infinite growth? We know that this is impossible, for not even the universe is infinite.

I guess growth could theoretically continue for quite a while yet provided the human race were capable of colonising other planets.

If we can't do that, or not quick enough, then some kind of equilibrium would be reached which would prevent the human population from continuing to rise.

I agree that the current potential for growth is enormous, and the likely buffer will be the availability of resources. This buffer won't be reached for many decades or even centuries.

What is growth in the economy?  Producing more selling more, consuming more?  Business are told you cannot survive with out growth Ecomomies must grow. Perpetual growth with finite resources is unsustainable which doesn't mean we wont try to achieve it. Conflict over resources is inevetitable but the human spirit will always be unsatisfied and will strive for more.  Out growing the Earth's resources will be the motovation for space exploration and once we learn how to live outside the Earths atmosphere the potential for growth is limitless
