asking for government help, not so long ago boasting about the cash reserves they have, 1.7bn (bbc) and a 400m credit line.

Why should the taxpayer help them out?

BA may sue the government if it is proven that planes should never have been grounded in the first place!! A bail out may actually be a compromise!

Farmers got compensation for slaughtered livestock during foot and mouth. I don't see how this is any different.

nobody slaughtered BA's planes though -they are onl claiming for loss of business which is different ot loss of stock

On Thursday thet were Quoting £800 for a flight from Barce to Heathrow, subsequently cancelled of course, but looked more than a bit steep.
