Your shop is worth very little, if anything at all. If you were doing the business one of the big firms would just open up next door. The Gambling Comm (bunch of fkin leeches) have taken away any value you might have.

The best thing to do is to keep your expenses down as much as poss, easier said than done I know, go and see a few Boozers that are away from any shops and try and get them on board. Make enough in the shop to keep your doors open then make a few "spare bob" on the phones.

Capt; The good times are never coming back, unless you mean;

All shops close at 6.30, No opening Sundays, Tufr tv collapse and SIS get the courses back and don't charge us any-more, the gamb comm disband, Betfair goes bust, the internet breaks down for good, early prices for just 2 races a day , the irish lottery finishes we pay tax on our net profit , not gross profit, or better still charge the punters 10% then only send a "bit"of it off to the tax man.

In the last month I've paid out £1152 for £2, £576 for a nicker twice and £288 for ten bob 3 times on the Irish Lottery thats 6six 575/1 winners in 4 weeks.

The good times have gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capt last month 2 FOBTs

Stake £93301 (not money in)
payout £91871

profit £1429 less 30% to supplier of £428 less licence fees for a month £387 leaving a profit of £614 or £307 per machine makin £9.90/day per machine out of a turnover of over 93 grand.

They're are gonna turnover a million and I hope to get £27000 less share £8100 less licence £4650 leavin £14250 which ain'nt enough to pay SIS let alone turf tv.

Fkin paper bill is £1418 a year!

my friend was contacted by Lads, hand written envolope. He been trading 7 years, side rd up against a good H1lls o the main High St.

He had a good couple of years but is taking 6k a week now 1000 slips.

Big empty shop 3 doors down from h1lls hasnt heard anyhing for a month.
Do u think they will offer him a get of jail card ?

If they've already contacted him it's a start. The thing is they will have to spend a few bob getting the shop to look how they want it. They are gonna be up against h ills so if they can start with all yous mates custom its a start. The thing is before the Gamb comm came on the scene his shop had a value, because he had that pitch, now they can open up next door and he will be fkd. On the turnover and slips he's doing any amount would be a bonus.

Good luck, I'd take whatever they offer. If you've takenover 3 million in 2 years yet only won 70k something is wrong.

He's obviously betting with you for a reason, are you guaranteeing all his prices or letting him take earlies that are shortening up?
If thats the case then he won,'t do much in. Don't restrict his bets but try to get him at s.p , he won't go round the corner because they run a mile as you know, and will make him wait etc etc. Just try to offer him a better service but cut out his margin, if he's a pot house gambler he won't stop.

Whsilt I sympathise with you aboutt he Gambling Commission, I think the main reason the value of betting shops has fallen is the planning rules change. In Northern Ireland bettign shops are worth much more than Britain, as they have different planning rules.

Nice one, keep it up don't let him take you on again, hopefully you will take it all off him then when you know he's skint, thats the time to try and sell. Just remember providing he backs every day and you keep him under control he CANT win.

would you give him credit?

NEVER give him credit over the counter. He will chase then win, but others will see him doing it and ask as well. Tell him the gamb comm no longer allow credit without him giving his bank details, that will put him off. However tell him deposit betting is OK or he can back on the strength of any winners he has to come.
