I have a job interview tomorrow with tesco and was told by the agency who set me up with the interview to find out abit about how tesco faired for the last couple of years during the recession and how they are now doing.
Iv had a look at there share prices and saw that they did fall in price quite a lot in 2008 and have steady risen since start of 2009.
However im not sure of any big stories or events that have happened with tesco.
Was wondering if anyone on here would be so kind to share any info they have about tesco, regarding now and last 3 years.
Really appreciate anyhelp.
Thanks in advance.

Tell them that you believe part of their success is down to the fact that all the rich people can't afford M&S now and love being asked "do they have a clubcard?" after they have just queued behind 3 people getting cider at 9.05AM.
Job sorted.

the multisaves that actuallu cost more snag, helps improves profits

examples

96p each or 2 for £2

1.48 each or 2 for £2.50, but never discounts at till

wine 2.99, ready meal 3.99, dessert 1.99 or all 3 for £9

slimey** the whole operation

Not much point in going to a lot of trouble analysing the company if you are going to be filling shelves.

Having a look at Wikipedia will probably give you all you need, or lines to it.

Tesco love you to use their catchphrase as many times in the interview as possible . Unless you are a convicted armed robber any usage of 'every little helps' (with a knowing wink) above 4 times gurantees a job

tell them its move into nondurable goods items has being very successful. I suppose Tesco is now a hypermarket player

WIKI:

Nondurable goods or soft goods (consumables) are the opposite of durable goods. They may be defined either as goods that are used up when used once, or that have a lifespan of less than 3 years.

Examples of nondurable goods include FMCGs such as cosmetics and cleaning products, food, fuel, office supplies, packaging and containers, paper and paper products, personal products, rubber, plastics, textiles, clothing and footwear.

Durable goods, nondurable goods and services together constitute the consumption of an economy.

Take in paper and a pen - write the question down, and anything else you think of when they talk.

BUT, most importantly, print off IN COLOUR their webpage front page, and have it in plain sight on top of your papers when you go in.

Subconcious - work on theirs, like they work on yours when you shop.

share price weakness in 2009 was due to underperformance of key peer group on UK like for like sales.
Double clubcard points has redressed this to an extent and currency has helped in last few months. they have they 2009/10 full year figures a week on tuesday.
