We want to transfer some shares equally to our son & daughter, however my wife has a different holding number of shares than me.Can we transfer say 500 of my wifes holding of 750 to one and the other 250 of hers aswell as my 250 to the other or is a different process required? tia.

You can transfer what you like - but any CGT will become due on the transfer.

In relation to CGT, your son/daughter might like to record the share price at the transfer, as they will need it to assess their own CGT in future.
