Any advice please on putting some cash in Euros e.g. cheapest way of putting £2500 in them now to cash next summer.

Do you mean you want the euros next summer or that you want to change them back into pounds then?
I think the cheapest way to buy Euros is to open a Nationwide account and fly to Dublin for £5 with Ryanair and get them out an ATM. If on the other hand you want to bet on the exchange rate movements then open a spead betting account. |

Not sur if this would suit your purpose, but i went to Lnazarote last week ansd instead of buying travellers cheques, euros at airport etc, used a currency card which i obtained from fairfx.com.
Loaded £1000 on it, which gave me 1085 euros at the time ( they reckoned i got 73 euros more than if i changed money at airport/high st etc ) withdrawals from atms cost me 1.50 euro each time.. |

Thanks for replying. I suppose I was thinking more in terms of punting on the exchange rate so I'd better look at spreads, but this would be a new method to me so I am hesitant.

lol ferry man if you intend trading curriencies with 2500 euro as your account size I suggest it would be more beneficial to give your money to the rspca.Tiny accounts like that are lambs to the slaughter.You have lost it all b4 you even start.Why? leverage will wipe you out 2 quick.Go to a currency exchange merchant and badger him down to the lowest possible rate.Or tell him what youu want to do and he might feel sorry for you and give you a good rate.Forget about opening up any spreads accounts.

Thanks, I believe you may be right! So I better stick to Lloyds Int'l saver in Euros, or a European Fund (like Jupiter).
