I think the last slam of the year deserves a thread of it's own
Novak same half as Alcaraz, Carlo's draw to the Semi's is very soft maybe bar home fave Shelton in the quarters.
Zverev looks good for another Slam final looking at his cakewalk draw.
Sabalenka has a pretty clean run to the Semis, where Svitolina or Muchova will probably be waiting.
Bottom half has Andreeva / Iga / Osaka / Rybakian / Gauff
It's been a long jounrey, but let's hope Sorana's last ever slam goes well and she's not dumped out by some mug.

must be curtains for botic now and hes only got himself to blame. 66 ues is completely ridiculous

botic goes a break up in yet another set. mucked it up all the other times
I expect more mugging in this Tien match, but I think he will prevail in the end.
1.9 to 1.25 for a break in the opening game is quite the reaction.
wouldnt trust either tien or botic to hold serve until the end and close it out. no reason to after whats gone on in both matches already

tien has to work on his serve. to be broken this many times by khachanov means its pretty much useless
botic broken. absolute mug. thats three sets hes done that in now. tien not much better either, making khachanov look like nadal

Karen with an absolute bomb, Learner gets it back and wins the point on his next shot.

Shelton v Alcaraz later should be blockbuster, think Shelton has a real chance, was going to complain about the time it starts but it's set for Peak US time so makes sense.

and also suits Shelton who has played several night matches whereas Carlos has played in the day.

Should have backed Noskova to win 2 slams this year back at the start of the year, could have retired early

Sue Barker on Talksport just said the Australian CEO is thinking about reducing the number of sets at the Aussie Open in the early rounds from 5 sets to 3 sets.
For me that's just diluting tennis, you're also going to get a lot of players getting further than they should and match ups late on that are not as good as lesser players sneak through in 3 sets, players will be going all out to try and win in 2 sets and you could see even the likes of Sincaraz being KO'd early.
Novak won half of his slam in his 30's, so really there's no excuse, would be surprised if the broadcasters and sponsors would be behind it as it'd mean less air time for them.
