Surprised they dont play all the womens quarters on the same day, theres been no real rain delays, so why cant they play all quarters today and semis on thursday, bit of an unfai advantage playing 2 days in a row for tomorrows quarters if they play both semis on Thursday.

They changed this recently, maybe when they started to play on Middle Sunday.
I would say the current format is not too bad, as long as there are no rain delays. Yes, two of the semifinalists play on the same day, but since those two meet in the same SF there will not be a disadvantage unless someone finishes very late on the Wednesday which is unlikely.
I suppose they could do:
Women's QF:s: Tuesday
Men's QF:s: Wednesday
Women's SF:s: Thursday
Men's QF:s: Friday
Not sure if it's for ticket sales reasons they do it like this or because they want to be like the other Slams.

Gauff became really tight serving at 3-2, she's very nervous
Jpeg won't have endless chances to win a Slam, this is sure one of the better ones with the usual suspects out.
J Peg extremely nervous. Think this means more to her given her age.
would like to see Jpeg hold just to see if Guaff holds here nerve serving for the match

has anyone ever really taken jpeg as a serious slam contender, she's of the Svitolina mould to me, vulture/flat track bully, great at smaller events but never does it at the slams
the fact that Guaff is not traditionally that good on grass but in the semi's here must have something to do with the heat conditions

she can win one Zverev style, when the draw falls apart. Unfortunately she has had several chances when this has happened now and not being able to take advantage of it.

But yeah a Slam is a Slam. I was pointing it out as the most likely way for Jess to win one.
Penetta was 33 when she won the US Open so still a chance for Pegula, though Pennetta had to go through a couple of top 5 players whilst being forever thankful to Vinci for KO'ing peak Serena going for a calendar grand slam.

Whatever happens here, can't see Novak winning this slam it's usually a tell tale sign from the big players when they dropping sets throughout the tournament that they're not at their best for whatever reason, be it physical or mental, obviously in Novak's case it's probably just good old fashioned father time, looks like a Zverev v Sinner final.
no chance novak wins the whole thing. you cant be struggling against felix and have any ideas about the title.
hitting a lot of loose shots now. really needs to win in four, hard to fancy him in 5

nothing. felix the stronger once it gets into a rally. thats how you know novak is every one of his 39 years
4-2, this goes to a fifth it's touch and go if this match has to continue tomorrow
5th set should be a lot quicker than the first, if for no other reason than novak is gassed and you can see it
this is like a repeat of dimitrov yesterday. ran out of gas and lost to the younger fitter player. not the better player
novak is done. utterly incapable of hitting through felix and at this point, once it gets into an extended rally felix looks the most likely winner. only thing saving novak now is a monster choke from felix
parallels with dimitrov even extend as far as novak blowing a break lead in the forth. although dimitrov managed to do that twice
Don't ever remember Novak dropping 5 sets at Wimbledon before and still reaching the semi finals at Wimbledon, he is cooked against Sinner even if he makes it through.
odds say coin toss. felix fav now for me. unless he chokes which admittedly is quite likely

only good thing for novak is he gets to serve first in this set. if he can hold onto his serve, eventually felix will have to serve to stay in the match
felix serving better and better now in the rallies. gonna take all of novaks powers and some choking from felix to win this now
novak just cannot hit through felix and so hes relying on errors at this point
if novak does lose this, he cant say he didnt have his chances. has had plenty
really hope novak packs in soon. so clearly just cannot do it at this level any more
