you mean first tournament of the year?

Just on wildcards, has to be done this time of year to get out of the system.

4 British Wildcards at Queens, and all 4 to Brits unlike the other tournies.

Boulter is acceptable as she is good on grass, could go on a mazy run at here, or even at Wimbledon, haven't seen much of Stojsavljevic as I don't watch ITF's but know she won the US juniors and did well at Wimbledon so that's probably acceptable as well. But Jones and Dart are two absolute chumps who should be no where near a 500 event and will most likely be dumped out in Round 1.

Stuttgart only gave 2 locals a Wildcard but one to Kyrgios, box office player - would he get a Wimbledon wildcard?
Hertogenbosch gave 2 to local Dutchies, and one to Virtanen for some reason, maybe cos he done well at Brummie challengers recently. And 1 to the women, hopeless player but it's only one. Gave a couple to big named players like Andreescu and Badosa, and for some reason Pohankova.

Need to stop giving these Brits a leg up, other local tournaments in Europe seem to restrict them. It sets a mentality that you can get something for nothing, these players should be earning the way into the draw.

Good to see Sorana at Queens though and always good to see Annabel Croft, apparently we're being spared Balding and Castle til the mens's next week, every cloud.

no, I meant start of the season actually due to many Brits thinking the tennis season is only five weeks long. But I messed up the joke.

Rain at Queens. HTEHB.

They should give Annabel the gig as Wimbledon presenter. Thought they wouldn't because of her vaccine stance, but if that was an issue for them they wouldn't use her at all.

We need more of Naomi's legs over the next few weeks

Looks like poor weather til Friday, could be some complete wash out days coming til then.

This presenter Isa Guha is good by the way, not in the league of Sue Barker,Gabby Logan (football/Athletics) or Hazel Irvine (Snooker etc), but is far far better than Baldwin.

Anything is better than listening to Balding repeatedly trying to pretend she knows anything about sport and playing tennis...

samsonova really... dart is dreadful these days. losing to her from a set up really not acceptable
By:

When: 08 Jun 26 20:27
unbelievably useless from samsonova. you really have got to go some to concede 20 bps to any player on a grass court, never mind dart. break down in the decider so that should be that given she cant hold serve without a massive struggle if at all
By:

When: 08 Jun 26 20:32
safe to say she wont be defending wimbledon points if she carries on playing like this

four points in a row lost from 30-0. samsonova realy tossing this match off. even dart cant muck this up

I feel for the umpire here. Assigned to a match between Kyrgios and Moutet! (And Kyrgios has even behaved so far).

Market took Bergs down to 1.03 or after his opponent slipped (from 1.5). Bergs lost.

Isa's cricket background shining through today. Said Mboko just had to retire hurt. That's a cricket term.

Wouldn't have known, don't know anything about Cricket tbh.

Heavyweight Romanian clash of the day today, Sorana v Raducanu, market can barely separate them

I said Dart wasn't worthy of a WC pre-tournament and wouldn't do much, then Samsonova doesn't bother to ask the umpire to halt play when the surface was too slippery for her (other matches called few minutes before), and then she has the luck of Belinda pulling out of Queens (and Berlin) so gets to face an even muggier opponent than herself in Rakhimova who is to grass what chocolate is to a teapot.
