well done on your Mirra pick! I posted that that one and the Cobolli to win quarters pick were good ones and that Sinner winning his quarter was a questionable pick at 1.1 due to his vulnerability in the early rounds, but of course the stupid forum ate that post so it never saw the light of day.

If Jose was talking in the vein of being an ex-top pro and talking about pressure and what it takes, then he'd have been a mug, and those listening to him would have thought what he's saying doesn't carry weight. This is really really simple stuff.

Good to see Mirra hit the winning shot rather than Maja shank a ball into the net. She didn't celebrate too long though as it was too comfortable a win

its called discussion. youre only interested in what you think though and apparently youre never wrong and never to be questioned and as for being the forum spokesman about what people care about again thats ridiculous. no need for rudeness either but thats another thing you seem to do well

The word -Advices btw, actually makes sense, you plauralise most nouns with an -s, and as she's not been given a singular piece of advice but several, I'd let her carry on saying it without telling her.

Someone seriously needs to tell Cobolli to stop trying to hit the ball as hard as he possibly can on every single shot, it's not a hard court ffs, he's trying to his through a good returner on clay, sooner that sinks in the better, not to mention how much energy sapping that is over time.

Normally when a player wins a slam you expect huge rise up the rankings if they're not a big named player, or at least 1 or 2 places if you're a member of the elite such as a Carlos or Jannick.

Zverev stays exactly where he is in 3rd.
Report brians June 8, 2026 8:36 AM BST
He stays in third because he won without Sinner or Alcaraz being in the championship ( Sinner effectively retired due to sickness) He is not a better player than either of those when fit.
Report mesmerised June 8, 2026 11:10 AM BST
That's not how rankings work, he couldn't move up any position regardless of whether sinner or Alcaraz were both there or not, you defend your points, max 1600pts for him as he reach quarters last year (400pts), not enough even with Alcaraz out who lost 2000pts for not being there, a 3600pts swing on Carlos and he's still 2600+pts behind him in the rankings, Sinner lost 1250 pts for bein KO'D in the 2nd after reaching the final last year, and is still 6000+pts ahead of Alex. Nobody said or thinks that he's better than either or them, never has or never will be. He's definitely good for a slam though on talent alone.

Zverev however could move back up to peak number 2 position at Wimbledon, Alacraz not playing so would lose pts from Wimbledon final and Queens win, Alex could make semi's at Wimbledon to overtake him, think he might need to win Stuttgart for that though as well, if he's runner up in Stuttgart again, think he's have to make the Wimbledon final to move up to 2nd. Sinner could pull out of SW19 and still be cruising at the top.
Report stu June 8, 2026 11:18 AM BST
Both had some fairly massive nerves in that final - but to be fair, why would they not have, given neither had won a GS before this.
Cob obviously never even been in a final either - given that, some of the rallies they produced were excellent, along with some of the chokey points both produced at times.
Report stu June 8, 2026 11:20 AM BST
Should also note Zverev had the disadvantage of having to play a full extra match also!
