its harsh but fair. seen it too many times where hes lost when he should have won or hes bailed out of a match due to the slightest niggle

yeah, classic case of "the big player has figured the underdog out now".
ADF 1.7 when breaking Tien. 1.58 as he went out to serve.
down to 1.41 for taking the set, then back to 1.47 during the sitdown.
ADF lent over his chair and grabbed back of his leg for a good 10 seconds there.
had a look at Mirra's third set stats since she became a main tour mainstay. 25-20. Not particularly good for a top 10 player.

wasn't like Sinner was letting him in, Fonseca was playing a pretty close to lights out Sinner and really pushed him

That was very onesided but so was the first set in Miami last year and Fils came back from that. Zverev of course doesn't have same baggage going into this part of the season as he did last year.
Vicky really testing Saba. If that win doesn't come today, it's not far away.

Reminds me of the Pistons/Bulls rivalry in the early 90's. Pistons were the better team early on and kept winning the battles against the Bulls, but it was getting closer every year and eventually the Bulls surpassed them and dominated from there.

fair play to her. she made the changes needed to get to the next level. still things she could improve on and if she manages that there should be plenty more slams and she will be in the conversation for the greats.

I've thought for a while that Noskova and Rybakina were the best hard court players in the world but that both weren't doing themselves justice due to their unreliability thus allowing the most professional hard court player (Aryna) to rack up the big titles
Both have looked far more reliable in the early part of 2026 and in this event in particular

impossible to fancy her to turn this around either. dont think her record from a set down is much cop and thats probably because it used to happen so rarely
4 horror errors from Svitolina to start the set
shes still more stable than iga toad. be surprised if this goes to a decider
iga really needs a second break. svitolina still well in this set otherwise
missed an open court for the double break and now back on serve
there you go. iga close to the double break, doesnt get it and then immediately broken back
will be a miracle if iga wins this set now. as you say sabine she should be a double break up and that kind of muggery is hard to get over

the fact motivation is even an issue is depressing. why wouldnt you want to do well by default
