funny Fritz market. Market steady in the 1.4-1.5 range for the first 5 games, then market panics as Fritz calls the physio and odds shoot up to 2.3 and hovers in the 2-3-2.6 range for the next two games until market deems he's ok and pushes him back to 1.5. Shortly thereafter Fritz breaks for the set and goes to 1.15ish.

it's an early call but iga is going down this season. whatever faustian pact she signed to dominate for those few years has clearly expired. the fear factor is gone and everyone fancies beating her now. a lot of it is self inflicted... all that negative body language and inability to find answers when a match goes off course have caught up with her.

Doha 1000 is a good example of what happens when top players don't commit.

Osty is now gonna keep her inflated ranking as she reaches a semi with one good win (Alexandrova) + wins over mugs. Also helped by Coco flopping.

Iga who has been struggling most of the year gets to play her pigeons to make semis.

It would be nice to get Osty vs Iga in 2026. Based on how badly Osty has regressed you'd think Iga can not lose to her, but then again Iga has also not had a stellar start to the year and there's probably mental scars.

and even against her pigeons she's struggling.

Funny how it was like that in the Giron match as well. And these are different injuries. But it didn't look good as he was grimacing late in that 1st. I didn't think a tap was coming, but I could see him just playing the match out. He's clearly in this now.

Yeah. I underestimated his sheer drive to compete. Thought perhaps given the injury his team might have tried to insist. Seems a okay though, wonder it will feel when the pain medication and adrenaline wears off after the match.

He's crazy for even play at all at the moment imo. He's had tendinitis since late last season so should have taken several months of imo and let it heal properly. Something is missing compared to his game last summer.

Can get by on his serve, fighting spirit and tennis intelligence, but I have a hard time seeing him back in the top five with a dodgy knee.
