Tennis Talk 2026: Vol 3 (Australian Open)

first gp novak. so a hold incoming

think Alcaraz will be the first to break Courts record

another hold from the jaws of a break. poor from sinner and it'll cost him

beating Sinner and Alcaraz back to back in the best of 5 would probably be the greatest sporting achievement of all time especially considering the age

Apart from Arsenal going unbeaten for 49 games in 2004

agree mes

no bps for sinner this game. he will rue all the bps in the other games if he loses this

to think last years semis were in straights and a first set retirement, got our moneys worth this year

66 Sinner winners to Novak's 43 so far

sinner has no business losing this. but hes mugged hard in a couple of places and here we are

365 stream just died?

Alcaraz absolutely loving this. either a knackered sinner or an over the hill novak in the final

here we go. mark my words. one bp for novak and he will break and thats the match

yes same here

and here it is

Carlos would love Novak to win

absolutely

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom !!!!!!!!!

and he is going to

what did i say.

didn't even see what happened

one bp

Breaks straight back (nap)

no way mes. novak serves out nap

1.04    £198,875.88        £65,096.83
1.05    £263,261.01        £586,655.79
1.06    £106,073.98        £581,730.22
1.07    £28,866.72        £187,429.27

Sinner

sinner's had an absolute nightmare here

one of naps has to be wrong

true. yours. sinner blew all those bps and then choked the only bp he faced this set. no way back from that

doesnt even matter if sinner gets bp. he just isnt taking them. its in the stars

Journos will hate Novak winning this they're still die hard fedal fanboys

novak toying with his food. 0-30 just to get sinners hopes up

Novak finished

cant see sinner breaking even if 0-40

he had 0-40 to break straight back in the second set and couldn't take it...

1.32            £1,873.04
1.33    £253.48        £1,727.67
1.34    £36.61        £11,640.76
1.35    £2,021.89        £84,389.55
1.36    £8,670.32        £225,695.21

1.38    £8,503.25        £68,769.14
1.39    £8,829.00        £14,537.35

exactly sabine. sinner just cant take a bp

one gone

two gone

this is hilarious

three gone. just shake his hand now sinner its over

8 bps saved out of 8 for novak. 0 out of 1 for sinner. ridiculous

monster

Angela thought you were a big Sinner fanboy

this would be a worse loss than the FO final right?

bet365 trader panicking about his Novak exposure and shut down the stream (NAP)

hideous from sinner. completely hideous. sinner in the final and there might have been a match. as it is should be one way traffic

will be an easy hold for Jannick after those exhausting efforts from Novak

365 stream up and running again

yep. novak steeling himself for one big hold

novak nearly 1.3 just to hold serve. unreal

If only Novak had Sinner's serve though

25%

50%

no, he 100% mugged a Slam there.

75%

agree fo was worse than this but this is still horrific

cant even blame the heat

no way

oh my

Novak bottling it

fitting that novak will hold for the match with another almighty struggle on serve. story of the entore fifth set

just inevitable that he holds. so many chances for sinner missed and we all know what happens when you miss so many chances

gsm

that took some doing from sinner. completely dominated the set but lost it anyway.

very clutch from novak and very muggy from sinner

Couldnt believe the price of Djokorvic when I looked at the prices last night....think was 24 or 25 on here .....in hindsight that was massive value

was never more than about 10 on here with sinner about 1.10

Oh my word

still another mountain to climb to get 25. Should have been Zverev.

with every bp novak saved in that last set, the chance that sinner mugged just one increased. and so it was

Novak in tears

probably because after all that and barring a remarkable recovery he will lose the final

I honestly do not see how he beats Alcaraz, played after him, recovery time for Sunday too short for a 38 year old.

Where are all the mugs complaining about bo5 and late finishes?

1.4    £433.35        £15,579.11
1.41            £324.61
1.42            £1,269.00
1.43            £223.37
1.44            £1,856.79
1.45            £18,293.10

Sinner outright

Alcaraz wont be so wasteful and unlike sinner has the variety to move djokovic all over the court

Novak thanked his fellow bible basher Margaret court

Novak has destiny, crowd and faith on his side

very dysfunctional relationship, Novak and tennis crowds.

dress it up all you like that the 'goat' is still capable. he isn't. that was choked away by sinner rather than novak winning it

Sinner and Carlos are not infallible !!

Jan 30, 2026 -- 8:40AM, Angela Rebecchi wrote:

they will be when Novak calls it a day?

absolutely not. but neither should lose to novak right now in bo5

literally nobody covers a tennis court like ever before seen, than Alcaraz, even more so than Nadal, he's the quickest player I've ever seen, Novak will have to serve impeccably and keep rallies as short as possible, but that's hardly likely given how well Carlos covers ground, De Minaur one of the quickest players out there and even he was left for dead.

for all his success sinner isnt the strongest mentally it seems. or even physically. if he was then he would have had even more success

its an early shout but i dont see him getting near to novaks gs total

The market was so focused on Novak but ignoring the difference in their long match records and Sinner looking shattered, just he conceals it better.

I meant to win the whole thing tobiasr......I was tired when I looked but and sure was over 20

you meant in play. true

you meant outright. my mistake

It's important to remember that Novak was helped to preserve whatever energy he had for this semi final coming into it having only played 2 full sets in the previous 2 rounds combined, walkover 4th round, 0-2 down quarters, ret.

That must have helped him last this 5 setter, a little bit of luck as well that Carlos played over 5 hours and was cramping but 2 days should be enough for him.

I think Novak can win a set, but really cannot see him winning.

Novak is going to win mes. It's destiny

used his voodoo to infect sinner with the spirit of federer on bp's today so I wonder what he's got for carlos

bonkers day. could have had both favs knocked out and both went into the 1.0s
