We kick things off in Riyadh today. I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric.

Group Steffi Graf
Aryna Sabalenka
Coco Gauff
Jessica Pegula
Jasmine Paolini

Group Serena Williams
Iga Swiatek
Amanda Anisimova
Elena Rybakova
Madison Keys

On the men's side there's still a spot up for grabs for their tour finals which will either be decided this weekend or next week.

Tim and Laura bringing up the fact that players can still chase an ATP finals spot next week and saying this week should have been the week which is the last week that counts for making ATP finals.

Something I agree with and one of the rare instances where WTA does something right and ATP doesn't. (WTA events this week don't count towards the WTA finals meaning the contestants are all known a week ahead of the event).

#carambastat: The last time Madison Keys were in a WTA finals, the other players were Kerber, Halep, Cibulkova, A Radwanska, Ka Pliskova, Muguruza, Kuznetsova. #whatadifference9yearsmake #besidesKaPlisallretirednow

no, only on offer just as Ryba got a 5-1 lead in the 2nd set. Removed once the 7th game started.

Osty not happy with the group photo, said there should be approval from all 16 players before agreeing to have it as the official photo.

broadcast didn't start until Saba was 4-1 up. Interestingly enough, if you want to watch it on the world feed that's also available and was from the start.

Reminder of an update coming into play from 2026: points in the week following Paris will only count towards the Race for the following year. So the Race for qualification will finish in Paris.

Iga/Ryba time!
Will it have the usual pattern, strong start from Ryba only to have Iga win in the end?

you'd think they could at least bribe some school kids to show up with all the money they have.

Yeah. Given the money they throw behind sports it is strange as this isn't a good look.

They're changing things up?!

By:
TheCarambaExperience

Just winning a set could do a lot for Ryba's chances to qualify.
By:

Hard to see her lose against Keys anyway.
By:
TheCarambaExperience

but there could be a three-way tie with her, Iga and Amanda with two wins each.

By:
