I see Betfair finally added Mboko to the USO market. She only needed to beat four Slam winners and win a WTA 1000 event for that to happen.

tennis player v server just started. admittedly the senior dellien is a limited tennis player, but even that could be enough against serving tree opelka.

navone must have a wta serve. twice serves for a straight sets win against the bang average walton and gets broken. obviously then loses the tie break tamely and it'll be a miracle if he wins the decider after that level of mugging

set and a breakitis now afflicting bautista agut. was strolling to a straight sets win and now heading to a decider against altmaier who's practically allergic to hard courts

got to write this down for posterity. from a set and 5-3 ahead, navone served 6 times and held serve once. against adam walton. yes that's right adam walton, not sinner or carlitos or djokovic. adam walton. just wow

The fact that Rybakina is playing mixed doubles with Fritz in US open's new wacky novelty format (tiebreakers at 4-4, no advantage scoring and various fun media interactions) might be a good experience after her frustrations in two successive singles semi finals.

She looked a little punchdrunk when she was losing in Montral and Fritz is exactly the right partner to make the mixed gimmick engaging and fun for her.

I would have thought there would be more spectators for upcoming American talent Jovic in her match with Sierra.
It seems quite empty

might have helped if she had a more American name.

She had the option of going the college route (aka DRC, Kessler) I suppose having broken into the top 100 justifies the direct route but it's hard to see her breaking the top 30 at the moment.

By:

No need to break the top30 that young. The forever legend that is Paolo Lorenzi didn't break the top33 until he was 35 1/2 years old.

If you can stay in the top100 and finance your development and growth as a player with direct entries into the majors, you good.

Moutet looks pretty good value at 2.16. Michelsen's run last week was impressive but he has played a lot of tennis considering there's a slam right round the corner. Moutet did well in washington then phoned it in against Fokina in Toronto so he's good to go and won his first round in straights. He's got a 2-0 H2H on Alex as well.

Edy inventing the 'top 33' Grin

I have to say I disagree with you on Jovic but there's an objective way we can approximate if she made the right move.

Glozman was her teammate in BJK cup. Imho a more interesting player than Jovic but they were effectively contemporaries. Valerie has gone the Stanford route, playing a far more intermittent schedule. My prediction is medium to long term she has the better results.

If I pick Glozman in the comp, will you trade Valentova to me in exchange for her?

and I remain confused about Marta's wrist. Been having issues with it since May, retired less than 7 days ago against Rybakina due to problems with it, yet out there today again. And winning.

Easier to play against powderpuff, bar serve, Tadde Maria than Pow Pow Rybakina if your wrist reacts to pressure.

Short term I'm going to need Valentova. Mboko has changed my prospects and I have a back door chance of getting to 15 before the cheatcoder (assuming he's not going to give up his Schnaider points).

Tery is progressing so fast (and has made sure she's main tour ready through some serious work in the gym) that she could be winning a 250 before the end of the year. Her intensity and ambition are striking. Noskova is going top 20 almost by default, possibly top 10 and might get to the final in New York or Australia. She won't actually win a slam but that's a few points. Mboko will go top 20 in the next few weeks and could hit the jackpot in Flushing Meadow. Leylah is in her best form since 2021.

Therefore I have to keep Tery but if there's a future competition (that doesn't allow picking players in finals!) you can have her as I'll always acknowledge you were the first to pick up on her.

They have mics turned up for Iga/Potapova, so you hear the constant advice from the coaches between points.

True, but I would think it would be better to take some time off as there's still serving etc. But I'm sure her medical advisors have a better overview on the situation than I do.

Tery will not be available to pick as picks for the new comp can only be for players turning 17 that year or younger.
If comp 1 is decided this year JM can keep her as a protected pick, but no one else can. If comp is decided 2026 or later, she will be too old even as a protected pick.
