Great scripting whoever wrote this. Letting Rafa give Roger coaching advice and then Roger immediately winning easily was a very nice touch.

you need to remember what the crowd pops for. Fabio v Sock. usually Fabio would win easy right in a GS match? but it's fine for Fabio to job here because the crowd don't idolise him. and it helps Team World get some points. but when it's Nick v Roger, the crowd will be super disappointed if they pay to see Roger and he doesn't win

honestly I don't know why Novak isn't here. Could be political, could be that Roger just doesn't like him, could be a financial decision (it's gonna sell out anyway so why pay him a high appearance fee?), could be to have more even teams which benefits the competition.

why isn't Wawrinka here ffs?

Novak, Roger, Rafa, Wawrinka against Nick and Jack Sock doesn't sound very competitive

they can always find a way with the lopsided scoring system. Europe could win 8 out of 8 matches in first 2 days and tie would still be alive for day 3.

this concept would actually work much better if they did Team Roger v Team Rafa, and it was a draft

Pay must be good. Raonic retired from Montreal and withdrew from US Open but is playing here.

the whole point of Laver Cup is so Roger can hang out with Rafa all the time, so you can't put them on different teams.

on a serious note, longterm Europe vs The World has a better chance, The World just need to get some better players and not have their top players injured all the time.

I think there are limits to Roger's powers. He's influential but I don't think he can persuade Putin and Trump into getting the Russians to switch sides.
