joke decision indeed. it's one thing if Keys was caught doping or something and Q missed out on a SF spot because of that, but she was eliminated fair and square.

I actually knew of this scenario yday when Keys was looking injured, but there's no liquidity here, if this was a liquid market would be funny if people were dumb enough to lay Wang @ 1000s when this scenario would be known.

It's been briefly mentioned in past at YEC's but has never been used to my knowledge.

Keys didn't retire during the match so. they just treat play offs like start of tournament?

Her vs Keys was 2nd on after playing last on like 3 hours day before.

On top of this it's out and out mug scheduling that Zhuhai somehow still haven't learned how to structure their tournament after like 4 years. The 2nd match should always be match 1 loser vs player who didn't play, it stops dead rubbers, otherwise if someone just wins match 1 and match 2, match 3 is totally pointless (they got away with it here, but it's still awful scheduling).

Zhuhai always has weird, poorly thought out scheduling, some players play back to back days, others play like day 1 then day 4.

from the looks of it, if Q wins today, betfar will just settle o/r automatically with Barty as winner. then wait if any angry emails to make a decision

There's so little money outright, won't be that many angry e-mails, probs very few people actually affected.

The obvious thing to do would be whoever plays the 3rd, ie. late match day before, that group doesn't play next day, somehow this is beyond whoever does the scheduling at Zhuhai. So you'd have like:

1a vs 1b
2a vs 2b
3a vs 3b

4a vs 4b
1b vs 1c
2b vs 2c

3b vs 3c
4b vs 4c
1a vs 1c

2a vs 2c
3a vs 3c
4a vs 4c

There I just done Zhuhai's schedule in 30 seconds better than they manage every year.

How do Sumyk and Garbine actually survive as a partnership, when you see how they are on court knowing they are being filmed and recorded and going out worldwide, you can only imagine then there discussions on the practice court.

I think he's probably just not there, given he was there in like Beijing a matter of weeks ago, and it would be weird to have split with him after her end of season.

Wang is back outright btw. 14.5 was highest price matched on her, so no crazy prices (given she was like 8s pre and lost her first match).
