I honestly don't know how you could physically play tennis for 6 and a half hours, their arms in particular must be seriously aching, no amount of training can prepare you for the level of repetition without break, pretty much in uncharted territory although it gets past 6hr 43 minutes it'll be outright the longest match ever without stopping beating the Davis Cup match between  Mayer-Souza

A good compromise would be to always have a Monday final if one of the Semi's overspills til Saturday if they wanted to keep the 5th set as a non tie break set.

That would work.  The last Monday final had a fantastic carnival atmosphere.

When it goes to a last set tiebreaker the first player seems to have the advantage, with the person that's second knowing he has to hold serve, why don't they do something like the abba type thing they do in football on pens, just to balance the pressure equally, or would that type of thing not work in tennis? Just felt Anderson had a lot more pressure on his serve than Isner, as Isner alway's has the chance to break back even if broken.

The new ABBA system in Football is taken from Tennis tie breakers itself, it's just Wimbledon has a must win by 2 games rule in the 5th where the other slams don't. If they scrapped the 5th set non TB in Wimbledon it would just revert to normal TB rules where there is no real advantage when it comes to serve.

USO is the only slam that has a 5th set tb

Just thought there was more pressure on Anderson in that last set when really it should have been more evenly balanced. Anderson wasn't to happy with match going that long, so looks like something might be getting done to sort that out. Match could have went on forever.

If Anderson has nothing left in the gas on Sunday and loses 1-6, 1-6, 1-6 that will lead to lots of discussion on getting rid of long fifth sets at Slams. Previously when a player has been finnish next round because of a super long match, it has been in early rounds, so kind of gone under the radar but if ruins a final maybe it will lead to change.

As long as they don't introduce some of those crap rules they brought in for the NextGen tournament in Milan, first to 4 games was a nonsense

Just shows what I know about tennis Normally just watch tennis now and again when big tournaments are on, but that Isner v Anderson match was something else, Anderson will be coming to final on a mobility scooter You could see Isner was absolutely shattered nearer the end.
