Within a month the second time happened to me this situation:

I place a bet on tennis match (Vekic-Ivanovic), I back on Vekic @2,38 when she was 3:1 in first set. After few hours I realized that my bet was voided. When I wrote to customer servise they reply me like that: "Okay, looking at this market I can see that initially the market did not go in play at the start, and all bets placed after the off time were voided. This is very frustrating I know but unfortunately when our in play markets are not in play we can't accept bets during that period of the match. "

The same was @ 20 Jul 16: http://community.betfair.com/tennis/go/thread/view/94186/30715857/khachanov---kohlschreiber-susp---why?post_id=549384413#549384413

The same explanation!

How can I trust BF. Twice I bet and won but they voided my bets! They even dont give me bonus or something like this. BF just dont care about customers! In pinnacle or bet365 they know how to satisfy the customer.

While this is frustrating, it is a written and well known rule.

what is frustrating is that practically every element of in play tennis match management is now completely automated with seemingly no manual validation.

This had let to all sorts of problems in the last 3 months not limited to:

1, Frequently missing matches going in play because their live feed data is down or missing. This has happened a LOT recently, despite protennis sbs showing the match has started. Matches then get put in play late or suspended and voided. It's very very sloppy. Next to nothing is lost by putting a match in play early or at its scheduled start time. Or having someone checking the protennis scoreboards. Or even flashscore.

2, Incorrect settlements based on incorrect data from their live feeds. In particular retirements, should not trigger automatic settlement. There was that complete horlicks with rome qualies back in May.

3, Constantly loading the wrong start dates for matches on the matches for the following day so they hang around the top of the coupon like a bad smell all day because no-one sees fit to correct it.

But it's nice to see how all this automation has led to betfair passing on a commission reduction on tennis markets. oh wait........

I think they would lose a lot of liquidity on #1, especially on non-match odds markets. Plus it would look so messy during certain times to have a load of matches as in play that aren't in play, as start times are notoriously very cautious.

Concentrating on offering in play next game like 365 and getting the important stuff wrong just shows where they're heads are at

instead of putting matches in-play why don't they let betting continue.

In those matches where they wish to close betting when a match starts they can do that as well.
