1.86 for belinda. yes, not the best start of a season, but Makarova did not play since USO in 2015... now 2-1 in 2016, lost to Petkovic in straights.. Kerber was 1.45 ag Makarova before withdrawal. And Bencic is 17 for AO winner, when Kerber is 45, so WTF))???

The AO outright is based on perceived perception to win. Thus the youngsters with a lot of hype tend to be very short on potential rather than a known quantity like Kerber.

Same with Kyrgios in the men's side. He's priced up as 6th favourite. If he played Ferrer at AO who is like 5-6x the outright price he is, he wouldn't start favourite.

In reality the match odds market rates Kerber higher, especially on form guide this year where Bencic has looked shaky in every shown match apart from the Errani match, whereas Kerber's form was strong.

Though I still expect Bencic to win, as I don't think Makarova's form is all that either as you say.

yep... Kerber wins as fav all day long... if she plays someone as underdog she almost certainly loses... Bencic on the other hand could beat a top player on a good day.
