Muguruza definitely can win, just as she did vs Serena in Paris. Her price is an insult.

traders dream innit. serena to win in 3, but Muguruza to trade under 2.0. free money.
By:
Can win but won't imo. Nothing wrong with the prices in my eyes. I would have Serena around 1.2 too.
I'm not sure there will be a guaranteed trade either. To get a real trade you need Serena to get broken, with the way she's serving, that's going to be difficult. I think the scoreline will be respectable but ultimately a comfortable Serena win (something like 6-4, 6-4). |

There is actually potential for Serena to be out hit tomorrow, like at the French.
By:
Provided Muguruza doesn't freeze in the glare of the big occasion, I think she should acquit herself well.
By:
I don't think she will freeze. Has to be remembered this is a very different opponent to the ones Muguruza has been playing. Muguruza played Kerber, Wozniacki, Bacsinszky and Radwanska. All players who allowed her time to dominate. Serena's serve breaks up so much rhythm that 1 bad service game (and Muguruza has thrown in lots of bad patches in the above matches) and it's probably over.

i made the mistake of backing bouchard in last years final only to see how out of her depth she was against kvitova. this year is a similar situation with a young potential against an experienced champion. however i feel this year it is different, i dont think muggy is out her depth and i think she will throw the kitchen sink at serena, possibly like sharapova did in 2004. either way i dont see her getting steamrollered and expect her to have a chance. at these odds i am happy to take a risk. i think we are due a fresh champion.

SW is free money!
Christams is just around the corner! Beting $10, 000 on SW. |
By:
Bouchard was around 2.3-2.4. Muguruza is 6. Bit of a difference.
By:
Huge leap in terms of match status for this underdog though - best previous a QF, now a final at Wimbledon. Chance of freezing seems fairly big?

A lot of casual fans will think this will be a walk in the park, it wont.

1.2ish on serena was ok against maria but it's not ok against moogoorooza imho
go muggy |

Number of facts to take into account listed in order:
Head to head 2:1 to Williams (never played each other on grass) Williams can get nervous in these big title matches... examples last months French Open and 2013 US Open. Muguruza crushed Williams at last year's French Open on clay. I think grass suits Williams more than Muguruza. Williams is one win away from holding all four Grand Slam titles and she can get nervous in these situations. They are at opposite ends of the experience scale and Muguruza might just freeze but just a likely Williams will get a fit of nerves. No way is this as one sided as the betting suggests and at the price I would rather have a small bet on Muguruza. |

I think Muguruza has a fighting chance and the fact that she beat Serena in Grand Slam before should also boost her confidence.
However, Serena - usually does her homework when facing an opponent that beat her in the past, esp. if it was a major underdog. - is solid as a rock in finals (65-17); last time she lost a final was in August 2013 (Aza), and if we exclude two losses to peak Azarenka we'd have to go back to USO 2011. - has the added career slam motivation It should be a good match and I see two potential opportunities for Garbi: - she has strong starts and (1) if she controls her nervjoos mind and (2) if Serena is slow to warm up her engine Garbi could get a break or two breaks advantage early on. - if Serena wins the first set and feels strong in the second set her focus can go AWOL and we could see a replay of FO. In vast majority of 3-set finals Serena lost the second set after winning the first one. |

1.2 was free money v Maria and is here as well.
Muga will be so nervous and the ball will be coming back at her too quick to dominate anything. |
By:
Garbine gives this a good go imo.
In that semi final on Thursday Radwanska played the first set basically waiting for Muguruza's first GS semi final nerves to win it for her. It didn't happen. It's also the case that Williams herself often tends to get very tight in these matches. The French Open final against Safarova being a case in point. Serena will probably get it done in the end but I can see a few fluctuations along the way. Over 19.5 games looks like a good bet to me. |
By:
19.5 + is incredible odds. Staggeringly generous.
By:
1.8 lol, should be 1.4. imo 3 sets but all you need is 1 tight set 7-5, 7-6, and the bets in the bag really. Muguruza strong server.

Ridiculous headphones
By:
However did Borg and Federer win 5 straight Wimbledons without a pair of oversized branded headphones clamped on? Ditto Martina N with her 6 straight.
By:
That's it take your FOOKIN HEADPHONES OFF!!
By:
Don't see what the fuss is about the headphones, fans come to see two players play tennis, doubt they care less if they have headphones on
By:
Serena is used to thumping the regulars to the back and beyond. Garbine is a newish opponent who already has one win in the locker over SW. Hoping for a tight 3 setter.

you two surely can't be serious about this headphone nonsense alun & doridoru

If headphones are an advantage, then every single sportsperson or team that wore them would win each time. Clearly that's a ridiculous concept. If both competitors in a tennis match wear them, for example, only one can win.
I'd say wearing headphones is either a vanity move, a big bucks earning move, or some drivel that a desperate coach encourages to be seen to be doing something. BTW….anyone who walks down a street wearing headphones is potentially putting their personal safety at risk. |
