what was the 3rd set theory?
|
|
By:
3rd set theory is a technique used to predict the scoreline of a match is 1-1 in sets at the beginning of the 3rd set. NB. Only works in a best of 3 set match.

I think it was about the market overreacting after the second set in a best of 3 match, for example if the score is 7-6 1-6 then the money usually goes with the second set winner but quite often the second set is a big fluke/tank in those wta mug matches. I actually missed Jeff Tarango. Sure was always a mug but exactly the kind we need around here.

This might be of interest if you look to study 3rd set theories in tennis. Basically goes into same direction than if you get at least 1,67 (based on 2.0 SP both) at start of 3rd set from the 2nd-set winner, it is usually a clear long-term value back. |

Follow this rule and you'll be quids in (in low ranked evenly matches). Ive always sworn by it. It's all about intensity drops. It's the difference between good players and mugs.
