Djoko at 1.16
2.14 for 3-0. This appears to me short. Might be good to LAY.
It's easy to be a TB,...and there nothing is certain. So, one set Djoko can lose easier than 2.14

1.16 against an out and out servebot is never free money, could easily finish 67 67 67 especially on a faster hard court.
Report Supernando2010 January 28, 2015 8:04 AM GMT
If Raonic cant give us a real match this time and ends up losing it 3-0 then he should just retire from tennis for good. Waste of all that talent and the tools he has to beat anyone.
Report shiraz January 28, 2015 8:10 AM GMT
That's a strange idea supernando, but just for interest's sake what would be the minimum score that Raonic would need to not retire?

It must be strange for someone in Raonic's situation.  He is the best player his country has ever had and therefore will be lauded accordingly, yet in the "tennis world" he is regarded as just a serve.
Report Supernando2010 January 28, 2015 8:29 AM GMT
If it ends 7-6 1-6 2-6 1-6 it we wont have much of a match either so its not all about winning a set, basically i want him to play as good for us to start thinking at a certain point that Raonic might actually win it...even if Djokovic grinds it out in 4 or 5 at the end.

That's because i know there is much more to his game then just a serve these days but i am still not sure he is mentaly ready to beat Djokovic.

I want Novak to win this match, because despite what some about Raonic's improvement mostly coming to the net more and standing closer to the baseline on second serve return, he is still a very one dimensional player and unfortunately always will be, players 6ft5 or above should be banned from Tennis imo.

hard to tell yet. He had not had true challenge this far. We'll see him against Wawrinka. That'll tell a lot.

Now, i do not think he is at 2011 yet.
The 2011 Djokovic would've already finished Raonic, and be in locker room by now. The 2011 Djokovic would send flatten and sliced balls deep in Raonic's field. This one does opposite: sends him easy to hit bouncing balls.
Report yyyy January 28, 2015 10:33 AM GMT
The 2011 Djokovic was more confident. That was a ROCKBLUFF! He did not think about his opponents at all. He just was delivering his unstoppable game!

And that's normal: in 2011 Djokovic was making his way through...so as a sych, he was not not much looking back. Just relentlessly move on, dismantle everyone and anything that was on his way!!
Now, he is in different position: sitting atop, with lot of legacy, fame, family, kid, he's a father.
Report shiraz January 28, 2015 10:35 AM GMT
Just keep in mind sftd, Murray is an unusual player because of his 'reactive' play and frequently lifts his level of play when there is a need (OK sometimes he does'nt lift it even when there is a need).

Report yyyy January 28, 2015 10:49 AM GMT
even though I wish, I kind of am doubtful whether SoperNovak, ver 2011 will be up again? That version was a Determined Novak. Determined to win. It was like old Latin: "Aut vincere, aut mori"! (win or die). He was going for his life goal: to be world #1. Now he is there. That goal is not in target anymore.

He needs anotehr goal of a similar magnitude to drive him through. What would taht be? I do not see that one...or I might be wrong. Maybe that goal would be to cmplete career Slam? Maybe? It is that I do not see that strong drive in his eyes. Not just yet. Who knows...with Djoker, you never know.

That was a good question.

Fair enough, I actually layed 3-0 @ 2.08 pre match for a little bit and that market traded at over 2.70 in the first set (3-3 0-30 I think) for a bit of money.  Trouble with this type of bet, unless it is a really big match there is not much interest in these markets in play and getting sizeable bets placed at the right odds is very unusual.
