December is almost here, and that means it's time for Caramba's Countdown to Christmas, which is a Bit by Bit trivia which will start on December 1st and end on December 24th. It will be in the form of an advent calendar, for each day there'll be a trivia where the correct answer is a tennis person, and by answering correctly you will get points. I will start off every day by giving a hard/vague clue (5 pts level) and then the clues will get easier later (4 pts, 3 pts, 2 pts, 1 pt) in the day. You may answer whenever you like but you only get to answer once per day.
If for instance you answer on the 4 pts level and are correct you will earn 4 pts. If you are wrong you are done for the day and are not allowed anymore guesses on that day, that means you're not allowed to answer on the 3 pts, 2 pts or 1 pt level either that day
, so it's a bit of a gamble. On the other hand, by not answering, there's always the risk that someone else will answer correctly before you do and get the points for that day.
Only one person will get points during a day, so once a question has been answered correctly points will be awarded and you will have to wait for the next day for the opportunity to earn new points.
I can not give a guaranteed time table for when the clues will be posted because it will depend on my schedule, but my plan is to post the 5 pts clue shortly after 1.00 am CET (midnight UKT) and then the remaining ones around 5-6 am (4-5 UKT), 3 pm (2 pm UKT), 6.30 pm (5.30 pm UKT) pm and 11 pm (10 pm UKT), but this is tentative so please allow for flexibility. I will update the scoring daily.
The winner will be the person who will have most points after December 24th. At this time, there is no prizing associated with the contest other than the good feeling associated with achieving victory over other contestants.

If for instance Ivan Lendl is the person I'm looking for it could be look this:
5 pt) This person has changed nationalities
4 pt) Was very close to winning a Career Grand Slam but didn't quite make it.
3 pt) Has held the record for most weeks as World No 1
2 pt) Reached 8 consecutive USO finals in the 80's
1 pt) Had great success as Andy Murray's coach in recent years.

Any questions?

Googling is allowed. Ideally this contest would be google free, but since I can't control it I have decided to allow it. However, the clues will be such that googling alone will not bring success since you will need tennis knowledge as well and you can't just type in my clues and count on google to give you the right answer. Googling however can help if you have a hunch and want to use google to see if you're on the right track or not. I don't think it will ruin it much.

I was hoping your actual questions would be harder to search. In the example, the 3pt clue probably gives it away, because Google will turn up a list of not very many people, and then you can just work through applying the info from the 5pt and 4pt clue until you have the right person. It becomes a game of waiting until the clues tell you enough that you can simply work out the answer.

I really do think you should explicitly ban search engines, because whilst you can't control it, the majority will probably play along.

The Lendl one was just an example. They're not all set up like that with such googleable answers. Yes, you could probably figure out the answer to most of my questions at the 3pt or 2 pt level by googling, but with good knowledge/shrewdness/luck someone can get it right before that so by just waiting and depending on google you will often end up with no points.
And while the majority will likely play along if I banned search engines, all it would take is for one person to cheat and it could ruin the fun and turn people off. I've done this type of contests elsewhere and for those ones it was not those who were the best at googling that won it.

It's neither of the Williams sisters so you have wasted your guess for today (and so has n88), but just so you and everyone else know you have to be specific so you can't say Williams or Radwanska, or similar, and expect a point for getting the last name correct. If it's something like Navratilova, a name only one person in tennis has, I'll probably allow it, but if you want to be on the safe side write both first and last name so there won't be any discussion. It will take an extra second to write the first name so it'd be pretty foolish to not write it and risk not getting rewarded with a point.

The other clues were 3 p) Won his first Slam as unseeded, 2 p) Never won a tournament on clay, 1 p) Tennis legend that is currently coaching Novak Djokovic. See you tomorrow for Window #2 but why not listen to this Boris Becker song until then, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mav6MEY-yeY ?

no, I figured you were going for the lolz, hence the Laugh but figured I might as well mention this, especially since it wasn't mentioned in the opening post, to avoid any upcoming Becker answers and have a dispute on whether the person meant Boris or Benjamin.
