not sure if it's the player with the better ranking or coming first in alphabetic order
ok, so the first serve is flipped for just before the match starts
are we talking about literally just before the first serve, or before the 10 minute warm up?

The player that serves first is usually the player that has the ball in his hand, though bb66 may right.
