I am heavily laying Djokovic off at the start.

Market favours djoko for some reason - predicting a raised level for this final? Like you say he's not played to his best level during this tournament, yet he is in the final - he won the matches despite that.
By:
Dimi was a tougher semi than Raonic pretty sure of that. Perhaps flatters Fed's form line.
By:
Desperation/nerves may kick in for Fed here - he won't get more chances to win this title, Djoko will.
By:
desperation to kick the one who won it for 7 times?? ...and holding 17 titles total>?
nope! If any desperate that would be Djokovic. Federe has nothing to lose...his playing final is already high achievement. While Djoko can lose everything! 1. Number 1 spot 2. 4th final in a row?! 3. desperation knowing that he lost to an old man!? 4. loss of self belief once he already thought he's gotten 5. poison mind knowing that he is a heavy underachiever 6. idea of that he is a water boy to Rog and Nadal, nothing more....but taking only leftovers!? So, for Djoker is MUST win. That's a heavy stress that He cannot bear! Djokovic to lose 3:0. |

Djokovic
Pros Should be at the peak of his powers at age 27. Great returner who will return more balls than any of Fed's previous opponents. If match goes five sets with long rallies should outlast Fed. Cons Has had lapses in some of his matches so far. Has lost 5 out of six recent Grand Slam finals. Has had a tougher route to the final. Federer Pros Has never lost a Grand Slam final to anybody other than Nadal. Has had the easier route to the final. Gets a lot of easy points on serve and has only dropped serve once at this Wimbledon. His new bigger racquet seems to be cutting out unforced errors. Cons Players aged 33 don't often win Grand Slams. Will not get so many easy points on serve against Djokovic. Will not want a long match with long rallies. This could be an epic final. With very little separating the protagonists it could come down to who has a slice of luck on the day. At the odds, 4/6 Djokovic 6/4 Federer, I would make Federer the value particularly if he continues to serve well. |

Great thread and opening post. Seems to be a lot more sense in here than other threads. Yes Djoker has a chance but I think there's more in favour of Fed doing another Wimbledon and at 2.5 it's too good to ignore. Whatsmore, if you're a trader the final result is actually not so important - i'm looking for an even green on both but would love to see Fed take this.

I've thought for a couple of years now that Federer would never win another grand slam. I won't be disappointed if he wins this as I have no financial interest and look forward to a great final. (hopefully)
As for the betting, I think that 4/6 Djokovic could be value. |

What's this obsession with Federer retiring? If he's mugging people want him to retire, and now he should retire if he wins another slam at 33?
Let the man do what he loves to do. |
By:
he's reading feds serve too easy

By:
Ive backed fed but hard to see him breaking novalk

Djokovic will probably lose concentration at some point like he usually does
