Any hope Sam here? I saw her play her first match on clay this season where she got rolled by a no name and she was spraying everywhere. She's steadily getting better each match and looked back to her best against Cibulkova with few unforced and when Sam isn't hitting unforced she's tough to beat.

She has a terrible record against Maria though.

looked to be serving well against cib but its all about match ups marias height negates the adv of sams kick serve where as cib didnt match up well at all got to fancy shaz for title now

agree completely, Sharapova isn't going to let this get away. With Williams out, I don't see anyone else beating her - but, there will be some 3 setters allowing us to 'cash in'

The key to beating sharapova is to come out confident and thinking you can win. Most have lost before they step on court. Can Samuel keep this up for 2 sets though?
