GD has won the second set in each of their three matches to date and seems to be playing well here at the AO.

If Nadal plays as badly as he did against Nishikori he might be in for a problem.

One thing is certain. If Rafa is struggling to beat this mug then he sure isn't winning the AO this year.

That's not how it works.

Rafa massively there for the taking. If he'd played like this vs Nishikori he'd be gone.

Those blisters must be a concern though.
Report The Bhoys January 22, 2014 6:56 AM GMT
Blister looks sore to be fair, can see why hes not 100 percent, defo no value in rafa o/r 1.97
Report murrayfield January 22, 2014 6:57 AM GMT
not one warning this match..
Report RMB © January 22, 2014 6:57 AM GMT
Wow. Comms are contantly crabbing Rafa even to have that blister attended to. How dare he!
Report edy January 22, 2014 6:58 AM GMT
He's getting it treated after a finished set and even before his own serve. Not even the teeny weeny slightest bit wrong with it.
Report edy January 22, 2014 6:59 AM GMT
with getting treated at that specific moment. Not saying his hand is fine.
Report lurka January 22, 2014 7:02 AM GMT
nothing to lose now dimi but think i'll get some kip before Murray match
Report DonNo1 January 22, 2014 7:02 AM GMT
He only got back in the tiebreak because of Nadal's errors.  At no point did he look to attack.  Even getting the break back was from a double fault
Report The Bhoys January 22, 2014 7:04 AM GMT
Not a bad idea lura, tho its only an hour an a half away, always chance yal sleep tru it
Report RMB © January 22, 2014 7:04 AM GMT
He's played with smaller baws than me. Desperate. Rafa has to improve to win, and I'm sure he undoubtedly will do. Would be nice to know how much of this performance is off the back of his blister.
Report DonNo1 January 22, 2014 7:04 AM GMT
Double fault on a serve which he jumped 2 feet back to return off mind
Report jermaine defonebox January 22, 2014 7:04 AM GMT
Been very lucky rafa IMO .
Poor quality game .
Has rafa a hand injury ?
Report edy January 22, 2014 7:07 AM GMT
he has a mahoosive disgusting blister in the palm of his left hand. Already had it against Nishikori at least too.
Report The Bhoys January 22, 2014 7:08 AM GMT
Has a massive blister on his left hand, definatly having some sort of affect
Report caramba January 22, 2014 7:14 AM GMT
Has had blister(s) since before the tournament.
Report DonNo1 January 22, 2014 7:16 AM GMT
Not even the teeny weeny slightest bit wrong with it.

Well he shouldn't be taking more than the allotted time.  Otherwise it's just a medical timeout, which isn't allowed given its a preexisting injury
Report Wildone January 22, 2014 7:19 AM GMT
Ndal followers must be happy, Look as thugh he might get through his big test todayCool

probably roll on through against the older statesman at night now.

he must love joker mugged it last night!WinkCrazyTongue Out
Report jermaine defonebox January 22, 2014 7:20 AM GMT
Well I put a patriotic ton on muzza before tournament and didn't think he had much chance really.
But if rafa plays like this even the goat will take his new shorts down.
Maybe that's the prob to tight to bend lol
Report Wildone January 22, 2014 7:22 AM GMT
really can't see he rest beating Nadal now.

Nadal's biggest chance to lose was today and seems he will prob get throughCool
Report edy January 22, 2014 7:23 AM GMT
the time is completely on the umpire. The pre-existing injury thing is tricky. The rulebook only states a vague you can not receive treatment for a condition that has not been aggravated during warm-up or the match. How is anyone ever gonna decide that e.g the blister hasn't become bigger, redder and more hurtful during the match?
Report Wildone January 22, 2014 7:25 AM GMT
anyone who backed Nadal at the beginning of this match hand up for biggest muds of all time!!!Laugh

bigger mugs than me dropping 000's on joker last nightLaugh
Report jermaine defonebox January 22, 2014 7:26 AM GMT
To me seems more wrong with rafa than a blister.
Where are the rivers of sweat.
Maybe Fuentes has taken too much claret out
Report edy January 22, 2014 7:27 AM GMT
it's only moderately warm tosay at like 20°C. Not even Nadal sweats like a pig in those conditions
Report edy January 22, 2014 7:28 AM GMT
he sweated a proper river after a single game when it was proper hot last week
