it's at its worst at Wimbledon where chasing the dragon is pretty much the only thing the players do during rain breaks.

it never used to be like that of course, until Tim Henman came along with his infamous habit, and with his close friend Stefan Koubek, encouraged use amongst all the players and really got the (speed)ball rolling.

Fernando Verdasco it is alleged has one time in his life smoked a bit fat cuban cigar while doing his impression of the fat lad off the Southern Comfort adverts. Personally I am not sure this is true

"Braasch competed in a 'Battle of the Sexes' contest against Venus Williams and Serena Williams at the 1998 Australian Open when he was ranked 203. A decade and a half older than the sisters, Braasch "was a man whose training regime centred around a pack of cigarettes and more than a couple bottles of ice cold lager."[1] He nonetheless handily defeated the sisters in an individual set, 6–1 on Serena, 6–2 on Venus, while rubbing it in by smoking cigarettes during the changeover.[2][3]"
