What am I missing here? Read something about Sloane's wrist problems in her match vs Goerges, is that the reason why she is outsider of this match according to price?

Wozniacki didn't really impress me against Knapp and if there had been some other player at the opposite end of the court, Wozniacki would have already been fully preparing for the US Open. Dizziness can come back any time.

On the other hand, this is Wozniacki's tournament but that can hardly win you games alone.

I take it that market is expecting Stephens will UE herself to defeat?

read a tweet last night that Sloane said she fell apart in the second set because she was worried that her wrist injury would keep her out of the USO. She fell in the first set (3rd game i think) and injured it.
She called on her coach around the end of the 1st set and he strongly advised her to call on the doc ASAP if it was bothering her but she didn't at any stage in the match. Perhaps mentally she was worried but I don't think the injury bothered her physically, it is to her left wrist which is the backhand side and she was spraying errors from both sides in the 2nd set, she may have been making excuses. In the third set it certainly didn't seem to bother her physically or mentally as she raced into a 4-0 lead and won it 6-1.
If it was hurting her the week before USO she ought to have retired or at least called for treatment?

In saying that Wozi will surely engage her in longer rallies than Goerges and that could make it worse. If that happens and the match is competitive, Sloane would be stupid not to retire. Wozi is 6 seed now for USO and went out in 1R last year, losing this match mightn't be a bad thing for either of them.

Thanks lurka. I will check the moment that happened from the 'catch-up' on the official streaming site. Already watched the third set of that match, Goerges was making a lot of errors there. In the post-match interview Stephens said she was hoping to put on some show for the fans against Wozniacki, so we'll see. I might red out before it begins if the price goes in the opposite direction.

sorry @365 was after 2 points for Wozni .. not exactly sure what price she would have been before the 8th game but at a guess around 2.4 - 2.6

haven't really paid attention, but I haven't noticed there being anything wrong. coach asked her about the wrist during sitdown after 1st set, and she said something inaudible.
