Anyone think Mitja can pull an upset here? I mean, he is very solid of the ground this week but his service jips are bothering me, he wont do much against Isner unless those double faults fade away from his game cause Johnny boy only needs one break.

Tursunov was an UE machine in the second half of the last match and was saved by Matosevic's health issues.  Even semi-crippled Matosevic was able to play level match with him until the cramp in his right arm during the final stages of the 3rd set TB.

To have any chance w/ Isner, Tursunov will have to play the whole match the way he played the first set and a half yesterday.  I don't think he's consistent enough to make this happen.  Isner also had some questionable moments last night but nothing even close to what we saw in the Tursunov's match.

Actually i have agree with you. Tursunov would need to put a near-perfect service performance to have a chance today. Looking at his stats on serve this week, it is nothing short of a miracle that he made it this far into the tournament.

He saved 7/9 break points vs Levine, 6/7 vs Simon, 14/18 vs Stepanek and 14/16 vs Matosevic. His bp saving rate percentage might be impressive but it is the number of break points he had faced in this tournament that is far from impressive. And his serve was broken in every match so nothing good is in the cards for him today. But lets wait and see, it is tennis nonetheless so anything is possible.

his body language against Matosevic was terrible, if it wasn't for mato who didnt play great himself. cramping up in the final set tie breaker turs might not even be here, big john on american hard courts is a not a good value lay

I think the heat gets to him personally

Tursunov may deal well with a strong server. He is 4-3 vs Karlovic for example. But don't know, Isner has improved his level along the way and Tursunov is clerly on the decline. I also believe John will win one way or the other.

well played Mitja! I was kind of expecting a double fault on a crucial point but it never came ;-) market a bit harsh now having isner still as a favorite? hmmm...not sure how fit he is for another comeback, he's played a lot of tennis back to back.
