Interesting this one. Del Potro is at 32 to win the tournament and Ferrer is at 44. So you would think at first glance that Del Potro would be the favourite in their match up. But no... its Ferrer by quite a bit too. Now before you all go off and back Ferrer outright and lay in the match market there is a caveat.
I beleive the market is saying that yes Ferrer is a better chance to beat Del Potro, but should he go further has less of a chance to beat the others than Del Potro does. And I can find some merit in that. Del Potro CAN beat Djokovic and Murray, whereas I would say that Ferrer would struggle to.
Comments welcome.

Head to head record is the reason. Last 10 sets 10-0 to Ferrer and an easy 3 sets win at wimbledon 2012

Think you're both right on this one. Del Potro has been a good match-up for Ferrer. Met last year at Wimbledon and, if I remember correctly, Del Potro was favourite in the 'tie-of-the-round'. In truth, it was pretty one-sided but I think Del Potro was carrying an injury then. Certainly on past form, you'd expect Ferrer to come through.

cheers for the thoughts. Didn't realise Del Potro was injured. Will have another think on this one.

Ferrer has looked pretty shaky by his standards in this tournament i think. He's gathered it together when needed but against Dolgo and Dodig there yesterday he seemed to be losing a lot of 'ferrer' type points, bad UAs and missing many break points, of which he we will struggle to get against delpo.

Must be a lay of ferrer.

Ferrer is looking bad...he always does, but fights through, but he usually does not lose sets to weak players like he has here. Grass is just not his surface... There is no logic in backing Del Potro for the tournament if he is injured, because that marker does not void best, whereas if, let's say Del Po withdraws against Ferrer early, you lose nothing. As for the match itself, I thing the odds for Ferrer are a joke, Del Potro is way better right now, Ferrer can only win this if it goes to 5 sets

I remember Delpo played Ferrer last year at Indian Wells or Miami. Delpo was a very strong favourite. About 1.30 or so and got taken to the cleaners. Not sure who I'd price up as favourite here. Ferrer doesn't quite look himself these two weeks but has been getting through matches, but haven't really seen much of Delpo to comment.

Usually had some struggles in the 1st set, but even considering that, has not lost a set yet...His opponents were not strong, but yet again Ferrer only had Dolgopolov, who is not stable himself, and managed to lose 5 sets already. Do not see how Ferrer can win this, especially being on grass, unless a Del Potro injury occurs

Del Potro has been moving like the Tin Man, Ferrer will have him running from corner to corner. Ferrer is a stick on in this, no matter how average he's been playing he'll win.

I feel with this game like i did with the A-Rad, Li Na game. I think Del Potro will win (as underdog) but want to follow the bookies. I thought A-Rad would win earlier but went with the favourite.

I noticed the Del Petro/Ferrer odds and thought they made no sense given the outright prices. I looked into it and realised why the odds had ended up like this.
Head to heads
Ferrer 6 vs 2 Del Potro (Grass 2-0) (the last four have been won by Ferrer).
Djokovic 8 vs Del Potro 3 (Grass 0-1). However, it's 4-3.
Djokovic 10 vs Ferrer 5 (no Grass). However, it's 8-2 and 4-0. Only one of Ferrer's wins has been since 2007.

Sorry, not clear there. It's 4-3 in their last seven meetings. The comment about Djokovic vs Ferrer refers to their last 10 meetings and four meetings respectively.
