Why all this **** footing around? start play now, why the wait? the more they wait the less time they have to play on the courts.

Exactly, could have put the Dimitrov to finish match on at least...RIDIC WE ARE ALL SAT ABOUT READY TO TRADE LOL!
Report Dr Kim June 28, 2013 11:41 AM BST
I just don't get the logic, there is one perfectly good court ready for play, why not resume play and start the day rolling? is it really going to get to the point where, because there is non outside courts to play on that they just abandon play full stop for the day? that would be rediculous
Report frippar June 28, 2013 11:46 AM BST
when is the first match due to start on center court?
Report Mike-lfc June 28, 2013 11:48 AM BST
I doubt this is what you mean but don't think you will be able to play 24 games on one court. Unless it's 24 hours.
Report Dr Kim June 28, 2013 11:49 AM BST
The way i look at it is, the earlier you start and the more people you get playing on centre court, the less delays as time goes on there will be.
Report Mike-lfc June 28, 2013 11:51 AM BST
I agree that they should have started already on center. I think they are starting at 1. Could be wrong in reply to frippar's question.
Report frippar June 28, 2013 11:53 AM BST
All organizers fault this.
Report Dr Kim June 28, 2013 11:54 AM BST
I'd be pissed off if i had tickets today
Report GRANTCKING June 28, 2013 11:57 AM BST
yeh i agree it is a bit of a farce starting at 1pm when they know its raining, should be starting at 12noon
Report northanlite June 28, 2013 11:59 AM BST
because the great and the good of  british tennis need to have their noses in the trough for a good 3 hours before they can waddle off for a snooze on centre court.
those fekkers objected to a 1pm start from 2pm ffs
Report Dr Kim June 28, 2013 12:03 PM BST

hahaha no, 1pm

It makes sense to close the roof and start games now to catch up on the schedule. However, the organizers can't do it as people have paid tickets to see advertised matches starting at 1pm according to the Order of Play. For example the British public have paid to see Laura Robson at 1pm and if this changes there would be some p*ssed off people. So they can't change it so their hands are tied.
Report DStyle June 28, 2013 12:13 PM BST
centre and no 1 need to be protected from too much play so that their condition doesn't affect the matches later on
Report betchat June 28, 2013 12:16 PM BST
If it weren't for the strawberry/cream and Pimms etc sales they'd have started by now.
Report DonNo1 June 28, 2013 12:22 PM BST
1. They don't want to wear Centre Court out
2. Playing 1 extra match this morning isn't going to do much for the schedule
3. It's not an indoor tournament
Report GRANTCKING June 28, 2013 12:23 PM BST
4. im ill
Report DonNo1 June 28, 2013 12:24 PM BST
4. It's not fair on Robson - DM or the crowd (not that I care for them) when they're scheduled on at 1
Report Has this ever happened before? June 28, 2013 12:30 PM BST
only reason to start early on centre would be if helped the schedule

so many bettors waiting for this match...to end
Report AdvantageAussie June 28, 2013 12:41 PM BST
They could play extra matches on centre court, but then again, they don't want to play the mens final on dirt, thats what the French Open is for :)
