could have been kleybanova here.

it's not just that keothavong is woeful, it's that she got no special aptitude on grass.

baltacha has been injured, won nottingham and has a grass court game

there's also no sign whatsoever that she watched flipkens' match against her.

just poor and she shouldn't be near professional tennis any more.

think Anne is almost finished anyway, may retire soon?

i've made my point countless times, but another wildcard was given to a 25 year old who never won a WTA match but there appears to be no issue with that.

as for Kleybs, the final wildcard they just gave to a next direct acceptance so it looks even more weird now

Sam Murray is the girl who got the WC who hadn't won a match.

Can understand the youngsters, or someone like Tara Moore who probably should have got through Qualies at Eastbourne last week and looks like she cares but WC's for someone nearing/past 30 over a former top 20 player who's coming back from serious illness takes the biscuit.

but that's justification for her wildcard aaron.

Sam Murray has never played in a grand slam and has been slogging away for years.

yeah, she might not have any promise, but why not give her a chance, and a bit of funding.

Keothavong is an undisputed failure, mentally unequipped for the top level of professional sport, and old, very old for womens tennis, particularly given her lack of success.

She's been endlessly supported by a period in the lta where far too much money has been given to those with far too little talent.

there is NO justification for her to get a wildcard.

she did nothing to modify her game to give herself a chance against mugaroo when the tictacs are so bloody obvious as flipkens showed.

without sounding like a man who's good with flowers, mugaroo has got a flawless complexion.

although i suppose she never had to break into a sweat there.

fair argument, never really looked it at that way. Was looking at it more from the angle that if it's yet to happen at 25, when will it Confused

Only Serena has played more Wimbledons than her in this draw I think..Crazy 7 wildcards

there should be no such thing as Wildcards, you should earn your spot, not be given a leg up just because you're english, the ranking system is weighted about right, and it does't lie, a 29 year old ranked 217 defiantly doesn't deserve it anyway, waste of time
Report Has this ever happened before? June 24, 2013 8:31 PM BST
yeah goran should never have got in Plain
Report AyersRock June 24, 2013 8:37 PM BST
well if anyone deserves a wildcard it's a player who has real pedigree, he'd made 3 wimbledon finals, so if you're gonner give them, give one or 2 to real deserving players but in theory really unless you've been injured and your protected ranking has expired when you were high up beforhand -  you should earn your place
Report aaronh June 24, 2013 8:45 PM BST
how many other slams fail to find 8 'deserving' players to get their wildcard spots Crazy

I THINK IT WAS A GOODBYE WILDCARD MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE
Report jamesbeckton. June 24, 2013 9:34 PM BST
Keovathong once made the top 100 but then she got injured.
Report mengmeng June 24, 2013 9:50 PM BST
the wild cards for the british is basically just a way for the LTA to pay the players it sponsers their annual wage more than anything
