Zakopalova-Lepchenko

This tiebreak ridiculous. Zakopalova led 5-1, pegged back to 5-5. Had 6*-5 then lost both points on serve. Then won the 2 points on Lepchenko's serve and had another set point at 8*-7 and didn't take it, and now 8-8.

Finally set Zakopalova 10-8 in tiebreak.

converted her 5th set point. saved 1 i believe.

Is there anybody else coming back from a long Fed Cup weekend, because those that did seem to be struggling.

Another retirement anyway. This one in my favour though.

I think the close TB broke her heart.

Other Fed Cupers are doing OK - Safarova, Oprandi...

Others had far easier weekends than others mouse trap though. Safarova played 1 match on Saturday and won in straights. Oprandi was playing Pironkova who was also in Fed Cup action. Lepchenko invested a lot of energy into 7 sets, and will have been emotionally shattered after winning both singles matches but losing the tie.

Makarova played 2 matches over the weekend and is already back from the court in her hotel room waiting for her next round opponent.
I was just responding to your post - I think that the Fed Cup plays only minimal role (yes, it should be taken into account but it's not the most important part of the equation).

Also, I don't think Lepchenko would have retired after winning the TB.  And it was very close, as you well know, both had equal chances.

But clearly she had nothing left for the fight at all after losing set 1. That has to be as a result of the Fed Cup weekend.

when did oprandi match finish?

No it hadn't finished when that person posted. It finished just before you posted. Oprandi won 7-6, 7-5.
