It's an all french final...in other words : an all MUG final.
From what i've seen this week, both have been in decent form, with Paire especially punching above his weight...I think Gasquet will have trouble putting him away. His serving has been good, and his movement around the court excellent but he's seen to crack under pressure (SOMETHING GASQUET HASN'T DONE)
Ironically, he dismissed Llodra using the serve and volley game plan when a set down. Both have had 3 setters in nearly every match they've played but I don't recall a dip in form during any Gasquet matches. Paire's game has been gone a little pair shaped at times of every match.
I think Gasquet is unforgiving, especially in the final and will punish at those opportunities.
I'm going for Gasquet, but at a higher price than 1.3.

Well, we've seen from both of his last 2 matches that he is a slow starter. When serving first in both matches he got broken and then followed it up by 2 immediate breaks of the opponents serve to secure the first set...I suppose that's the reference point
wait for him to drop his serve, he tends to turn up the heat instantly after that |

Gasgay is by far mentally stronger than Paire. Paire has never ever won an ATP title...Gasgay's last title of 8 was around a month ago...looking at his career titles finals record, it is very good. He has won 80% of singles finals, so pressure isn't a thing for him at the final...Paire has been in both a singles and a doubles final and he's lost both.

lol @ Benoite Llodra...I wonder if he'll try the serve and volley today ? won't work, Gasquets strength is backhand which means he's instantly aligned to return the ball directly down the line, every serve and volley players nightmare

I'm just trying to figure out HOW benoite could beat gasgay. what weapons does he have ? Im struggling to think of anything. Gasgay is a very all round player with many strengths. backhand, pace, good accuracy, consistent, strong mentally. Does anyone know how Paire can overcome him?

az91 his only one today...drop shot when richard is stood 10 miles behind the baseline.....benoit best weapon is his backhand cross court imo and that will find its way to gasquets best shot

yep i've considered that harry, good point, however, isn't gasgay one of the fastest guys on court? he's very very fast and from my memory, not many dropshots get the better of him

Most drop shots will get him if he plays too far back...surely his coach will tell him to step up more as he should know benoit will use the drop

yep harry22, we weighed up all his weapons and non are worthy of challenging gasgay, apart from the dropshot you mentiioned...but he already tried that and he got lobbed as a result

This won't be as easy for Gasquet to put away as many here think. When Paire starts firing he can be a very tricky customer. He will be top 20 before this year is out imho.
