yeah, i know why!
'coz barthel showed top3 tennis today, especially in the second set and mladenovic showed 2 different sides of her game. she can make some winners and she can throw some aces. but her 2nd serve is a joke and she's making a lot of amateur errors. she has unorthodox (more like amateur) style and that's what makes her opponents to lose their point a bit. was wondering why barthel priced so big against kristina |

mona better ranking h2h 2-1 mona playing consistently well recently.
but i think mladenovic can easily win this its nearly 50-50 at the form, barhel beat bartoli who is not playing well and plays into mona strengths, vinci who is difficult opponent but can have good choke and be hopeless at time, two solid wins over top 20 girls kiristina also beat similar sort of players maybe even better goerges and wiky very solid recently and petra not in top shape but its kvitova after all good price for mladenowic imao she plays solid not making much errors and topping with furious winners ,great serving, home crowd at this stage will help very much. it will be some furious hitting but looks close match to me |

Someone has'nt been watching the matches, I think both Barthel & Errani have no chance against these 2 kids who seem to have decided to make their entrance at this tournament.
I have no doubt Mladonovic is going to be top 10 in no time. (She has just beat Kvitova it was no fluke, she always looked like she was going to win.) Errani & Barthel are pretty useless in the grand scheme of things. |

i dunno where to find the number of ues for each player in her match but i think that barthel's number of ues should be something like 10-15 while mladenovic's number of ues is bigger 2-3 times
and barthel played longer match against good and motivated opponent while kristina played against ue machine |

Nope think this girl is the real deal, she had an arrogant smirk on her face the whole way through she knows she is a good player, she never looked as if she doubted she was going to win.

you forgot that it's a home tournament.
that's like james ward who beat few top guns in 2011 and then he just disappeared local players are always do their best at home. and that's one more advantage for mladenovic 'coz line judges would help her like today |

mladenovic is only 20 she is climbing the ranks slowly, she won junior french open, she has tools to be a good player dont compare her to james ward,its not one off just showing her potential,but its difficult road wta, for both players to get to top 20 it would be succes and top 10 is for... top 10

LOL Mona deadly, Vesnina made toothpaste out of her in their recent final, I am taking the young guns to beat a lot of these players this year.
Ivanovic, Bartoli, Wozniaki, even Kvitova are all looking pretty fragile and on the decline. |

Kristina has great coach in Thierry Ascione. Also she has game against brainless ballbashers :)

Mona is never a cert. When watching her play - sometimes you wonder how she is in the top 100 and other times you wonder how she is not top 10.

Agree with SteveDevo. If either Kvitova or Goerges was playing Barthel they would be fav.
Mladonovic beat them easily despite unforced errors, she serves and volleys too hard for Mona. |

Well. I think mona will win. She is a really good returner. The opposite than kvitova, goerges or wickmayer. she plays really flat, with fast forehand and b´hand movements. I´m sure mladenovic will not win easy point with her first serve and also will be attacked with her 2nd. The player who moves better will win. Mona is the girl
