again when under pressure the myth that he is a "good sport" was exposed in the semi v murray.

funny how when he is trampling muppets he's mr nice guy BUT the minute he's under the pump the persona changes.

most fortunate he is 31 and not 25.

he shouted 'you f'ing stopped' or maybe 'f'ing stop' at murray when he was serving for the match at 6-5 in the fourth apparently

awful character Grin

Yeehaa!  You finally saw it.  He's a control freak and really a thoroughly bad loser.  Well done Andy.  Say what you like (and I liked the way he played 4 years ago - and have backed him the last two), he'll be number one in the next 18 months.

And he's built his legacy beating chumps like Philipoooosis, Hewitt, Roddick, Gonzo, Baghdatis, Soderling, Safin, and by winning slams finals against Djokovic and Murray when they were much less experienced. Kind of interesting that most of the players he won slams final;s against aren't even really on the tour anymore, despite them being younger or very close in age to Federer himself. He paraded over a era that is now openly called weak, if he had to come to prominence again in this current eras his legacy would be very much smaller.

The cockroaches coming out! lol. For those who didn't have a chance to see what happened, Murray (after Federer clipped the line) stopped and dragged his feet and hit a forehand which threw Federer off his balance as he thought mama's boy was going to stop.

Fed was off his game. His back was clearly bothering him. He was outaced by Murray by a long margin.  That's probably a first. He can't recuperate anymore after long matches. Tsonga sealed his fate. And he still pushed that mama's boy to the 5th. Any of you geniuses who are putting his accomplishments down, have any doubts that if Murray was facing the Federer of 2007 on Friday, he'd have won??? Federer would have mopped the floor with Djoko and Murray. Enjoy the era of golden retrievers and boring finals.
Report lurka • January 27, 2013 5:24 AM GMT
fed has outaced murray only once in their last 9 meetings
Report bibi83 • January 27, 2013 5:36 AM GMT
long margin lurka. 21 aces to 5, that's not normal. I don't think anyone including Karlovic, Isner or whoever has ever outaced Federer by that margin.
Report lurka • January 27, 2013 5:45 AM GMT
yes it is, just pointing out that it is the norm now for him to be outaced by muzza. Don't think 21 aces over 5 sets is abnormal for murray either. Tsonga hit about 20 against fed too. But you are right, Fed is at an age where a previous round 5 setter takes too much out of him and makes him a different player, and murray still made hard work of it and let him back into the match a couple of times
Report lurka • January 27, 2013 5:53 AM GMT
and you can also look at the olympic final when fed was taken to 19-17 final set v Delpo in the semi

hope you Murray worshippers and Fedhaters get your mouth stuffed today when Djoker wipes the floor with MugrayLaugh. Of corse Fed with 31 is not that good as he was in his prime years 04-06, btw, Nadull isn't there any more alsoWink, Fed's superiority is shown in that he is still top3 being far from his best.

About his mental weakness, as I've pointed out years ago it was always there, but covered by his superiority in every other department of the game.

I don't detract from Federer's fabulous record ...... I just think now is his time to become graceful in defeat.  It's going to become a much bigger feature in his games
Report northanlite • January 27, 2013 8:35 AM GMT
jezzuz Fed is 31 not 51 ffs.
the swearing thing is a lot of fuss about nothing, he didn't win that manty titles being a ****cat on court, mind you he still moves like a cat and is still as light on his feet as any player i have ever seen..
maybe another 5 sets did take its toll but look at those last set stats & Murray played a blinderl. If Fed had closed out the match like that he would have been praised to the hilt.

Whenever Murray loses these sort of matches he gets lambasted on this forum but when he wins there is always a stream of excuses for the loser.
Report DStyle • January 27, 2013 8:36 AM GMT
the comment, which i suspect was "Don't f*cking stop", was when murray appeared to pause after a bh slice clipped the line, perhaps suggesting he was about to challenge, thereby disrupting federer's concentration.

given that it appears to be related to a specific incident, rather than general trash talking, perhaps all the haters would do well to ignore it.

just as murray did, when he described it as being "not relevant" later on.

And he still pushed that mama's boy to the 5th

You might've called J S Connors a "mama's boy" for the same reasons, but it didn't do him any harm.
Report northanlite • January 27, 2013 11:02 AM GMT
anyway andy's "mama" is a tennis coach & journalist so of course she was at all the tournaments, it's her job ffs.
Report seahawk • January 27, 2013 11:39 AM GMT
Federer is a dead turd , just a floater .
What we are going to see very often is a foulmouthed FEDERROR with an occasional smashed racquet
This cheesy champ is getting stinkier by the day .
