Tips had an elbow issue I think it was and pulled out of Kooyong after playing one set. That combined with the fact Hewitt won Kooyong and looked impressive are the reasons for the better than expected Tips price.

I am on Tips, very fishy smelling matches hew on recently, Hewitt beat Berdy in some RR tournament, all the way through Berdy was getting the trainer on to kiss his injured finger better, funny he never had a problem today against Baggy.
Then Del Potro I have never seen him looking so bad, he looked like a Jake La Motta trying to throw a fight, against Hewitt, even the Aussie crown that is normally cheering Hewitt's battling but ultimately futile performances were hushed quiet.
Makes you wonder about some of these minor Tournaments.

Nothing sure about this match Bhoys, Lleyton is on fire. Granted, that tourney means jack sh1te but he beat elite players handsomely, is healthy, full of confidence, a 3-1 H2H edge and absolutely loves Rod Laver Arena. This will be a battle, those who pre purchased tickets to the 1st night session must be thrilled they got this match. Too bad if they have to work tomorrow as I reckon they're in for a late one.
Still trying to work out whether to go in now or wait, the price on Tips is very tempting and I have no doubt at some point he will go shorter, not sure if he wins but if he does it will be a long way from comfortable.

Took the 1.72 on Tips, a fast start please. Casted my mind back to Lleyton grand slam matches against tough opponents, he can take some time to find his way as he figures them out during the match, remember the 3rd set against Novak last year? Anyway I'm banking on Tips early, lay price already set and waiting.

hope Hewitt wins the second because imo it will be a real contest.
Hewitt reminds me of horses that like to eyeball who they are trying to beat.
then again maybe he is past it

i think this is the last Australian Open he'll play.
somehow got by on fumes and grit last year and a distracted djokovic flattered him a bit.
i'd expect him to retire after Wimbledon.

Got blown away then. Game just not big enough to compete with the top guys. He won't waver though, will fight this out to the end and wouldn't surprise me one bit if he takes this set.

yep. his movement is still exceptional, but his weight of shot isn't enough. there were times in that last game when he was in the right place playing the right shot but it didn't have enough to punch through.

The natural balance is restored, Hewitt the biggest waste of space on the Tour when not being handed gimme's like his pre tournament matches versus Berdy and Del Potro.

if hewitt sticks around a few more years he will help fed before retirement as well as Aussie tennis . He will help Haas and Ferrer, Stepanek and others stick around and to help others play for longer creating the competition to create the trades and pressure on the youngsters to lift their game so some top end quality can come through eventually.
you never know, he might make Tomic and others better players so their is life after the big 4!!
at least Hewitt isn't fixing !!
