Why is DelPo such a big Fav against Ferrer?
Ferrer played a lot of matches last week but DelPo played much more in the weeks before - nearly without any break.
H2H is 4-2 in Davids favour who also won both matchups in 2012 quite easily - it seems that Ferrers style does not fit DelPo.

Whats our opinion guys? I am going to back Ferrer tomorrow - he also should bring enough confidence with him after his first masters titel.

Only thing that gives Potro the edge is the serve... Ferrer has been amazing in the past days.

So aren't you aware Ferrer won Valencia the week just before Paris?

Is there a market where you can bet that David Ferrer will win AT LEAST one set?

2.42 Ferrer to win seems high to me.

Lay Del Potro 2-0

Silly me. Thanks Hollywood.

But there is actually a market for Ferrer to win a set... difference is that in set betting your bet is voided in retirement, and in the other one if ferrer wins a set you're always paid.

@hollywood85..... I see that, not a penny matched there yet. Betfair may have to help make a market there. I presume that is permitted.

Price is stupid. Ferrer clear favorite around 1.75.

this is very hard to call. but with ferrer winning the last 3 H2H (2 this year) and being in great form indoors too, you would have to say that there is value in his price. Should really be nearer evens IMO and I'd expect it to fall near or below 2.2 pre-off. This match should effectively decide a semi final spot too, as i'd expect them both to beat tipsy and fed to beat at least one of them.

If delpo serves well then I think he'll take it as ferrer's serve is not as strong. they have only played 2 tbs in 18 sets, so i'd expect some breaks.

Ferrer wont be tired, so we can rule that out for starters. He's also great against a big serve and has the confidence of a minor tournament win last week. At those odds it would seem silly not to take a punt.

Tough one to predict.

Court should be slow enough for Ferrer to set up his shots as he did in Paris. Watch for his inside out FH.

Delpo however loves these slow-medium indoor courts and has a great indoor record. H2H in Ferrer's favour, but can't read too much into this.

Ferrer definitely has the ability to win this. Think it may come down to the serve with Delpo maybe having slightly more BP opportunities on the Ferrer serve (Llodra had 10 BPs I think in his first set against Ferrer and lost all of them).

Going to be a good match, Delpo for me... just! Happy

You can't question David's hunger after winning two straight indoor titles. He'll want do well here I think..

He may lose but it wont be by lack of motivation.

a Del Potro win yes but for motivation goes Ferrer's biggest hurdle to getting to semi is this match, lose and he can forget it there's no way past Fed for him, if he wins it though he's already as good as there. Tips may have given him a good match last time but is done here.
final stretch before the end. he will try his best as usual. for a player his age and not last name Federer it can even be his last time.
and forget about the money he wants a proper trophy now
