Had backed Querrey at sp, but having seen 3 games I have gotten out of the bet rapidly.
seems a shame that players like llodra get conditions like this so infrequently when the dirtballers can thrive on their surface.
^ seems mr llodra only sees the quarters or further when he is in france

i absolutely love a clay slugfest but there needs to be more tournaments played on properly quick courts away from the fagend of the year.

Its so boring to watch Llodra to serve and make volley volley volley....this is not tennis at all....

this will make it 7 out of the last 10 matches won by underdogs if Llodra wins.
I only wish there were more players on the circuit like Llodra. Another one comes to mind is Stepanek but both will soon retire and there's no-one left. Depends on taste, of course.

hollywood you can say the same about most players...all the same shot patterns over and over.
agree vasek. my point is that you need the courts to accommodate them.
it may not be to everyone's taste but it's part of the variety of styles which tennis should accommodate.
with the gradual slowing down of so many outdoor hard courts to medium slow this style of play, which was prevalent only a couple of decades ago, is slowly being forced into extinction.
even this court has been slowed down since 2010, as a concession to getting the best players to prepare on a surface more akin to the O2.
it may not be to everyone's taste but it's part of the variety of styles which tennis should accommodate.

I respect your opinion. Another thing is that it's up to the other player to come up with the goods and hit through Llodra. Querrey hasn't been able to do that on a regular basis, that's why he's behind. Llodra deserves credit because not many players can be so successful with this style of play. Where are the likes of Patrick Rafter and others...
Llodra will disappear now for another six months.
yes, I know. is it in 2015 they're redoing the calendar (longer grass season etc)? hopefully this will by taken care of when they do that.

Boy am I glad I neutralised my bet on Querrey after those 1st 3 games. Querrey could not get a handle on that superb,strong,accurate serve. That does not make Querrey a poor player. Who put out Djoc.?
