Rain due to stop soon at both locations, but showers coming in later once the courts at Montreal and Toronto are dried. It's either time to buckle in for a long night, or it's bedtime - http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-york/weather-radar-re?play=true
By:
I was following radar maps and was very surprised to see the players walk in as it seemed sure that it would rain in a few minutes. I always thought the directors follow the radar maps.
By:
due to stop?? looks like a monsoon on court at the moment
By:
I look at the toronto stream, and it looks bad. but looking at the radar, montreal looks even worse.
By:
I'll elaborate on soon - i.e in around 20-30 mins. But yeah, that's uhm ... quite a rainstorm out there atm lol
By:
please elaborate now, emlyn if you can and have time. decision time here.
By:
heh Caramba. I mean the rain should cease at both locations in the next 20-25. Then add in court drying etc. But if you check the radar link there is more showers heading to both locations later. I'm on the verge of giving up myself.

Drying court now in Toronto. Can't see Montreal.

this game has started

has anybody got new radar or video impressions for a dorecast when there will be some time of play again?

Drying courts now
By:
freundDERsonne, if you refresh the link I posted a bit ago, you'll see the latest sit. Court dryng up again. One shower to the west but this one is small and also looks like it will miss just to the north of the Rexall Centre. I reckon they'll get a good hour of playing time at least when they resume - hopefully. We should get this close to a conclusion at the next attempt.

Cheers Emlyn

Djoko and Janko talking to an officious type, Janko not happy with whatever is going on
By:
This might be a stupid question but why don't they use covers. Saves an hour drying the courts waiting for it to rain again as soon as they're ready.
By:
because they like to waste as much energy as possible.

Players out on court
By:
Yeah, that's what I kind of figured.
By:
Djokovic is not the most reliable of players at 1.1s.
By:
in fact about 50th in the top 150 if you were to rank them.
By:
Probably because he starts 1.10 quite a lot of the time or hits 1.10 far easier. I suspect most players hit 1.10 once they're a set up or a set and a break, for example. Easier to go wrong for Djoko.
By:
compared to all the other players who have started at 1.1s, not in play.
By:
Ah right. Sorry, misunderstood. Intriguing stat then.
By:
Maybe because he is 1.10 more often then?
By:
79/9 in fact
By:
Even Tipsarevic has a better win ratio at 1.1s.
By:
It does show that markets will tend to underprice Djoko though.
By:
it's pretty common for players to check their own odds before deciding on how they'll approach their matches.
By:
I dont like this umpire with his voiceover voice. He must think he is the star of the show.

Srichaphan or Ancic? 12 Aug 12 03:27
Djokovic is not the most reliable of players at 1.1s. Srichaphan or Ancic? 12 Aug 12 03:33 79/9 in fact vintage market prices him up with a 90% chance of winning and he win 89.7% of his matches at that price but, apparently, "he's unreliable at that price", whatever the feck that means. you just couldn't make it up. |
