It will be hilarious if Kohli actually wins the tournament Laugh

I mean, surely people are aware that his Olympics match can be scheduled according to his progress here? Not all of you are basement dwellers who never got introduced to the real world? Shocked

That being said, Rosol can take him but making him fav is a bit much.

Marin, you do not need to call people with names if they have differing opinions than yours of Kohli's motivation etc. It sounds so childish and makes sensible people to avoid reading your posts. It is quite understandable that some people find it possible that Kohli thinks that Olympics are more important than this tournament and this may affect his effort. Actually, Rosol being under 1.5 supports this theory, if anything.

I personally do not feel I qualify for the requirements I mentioned in the opening post and will not bet in this one. Just had some spare time and created my first ever topic (if I remember correctly).

And I know I am wasting my time critisising people here attacking other people. Still, it is a joy when you also find people who try to be kind to other people here.

Well you don't know my history here so can't know how I arrived to this style of posting Wink

As for the name calling, what, you got hurt by "basement dwellers"? Shocked

As for the aggressive posting of people who are yelling "fix" and "tank" from the top of their virtual lungs, I feel everybody else SHOULD mock them mercilessly. Especially when it is a trivial thing to reschedule ONE first round match in the Olympics and a flight from Austria to UK is pretty much nothing (short, no jet lag etc.).

Kohl shorter in outright market than Rosol (although poor liquidity), but Rosol fave to win match. Reverse from Wimbledon.

Thanks Marin for your answer. Yes, I know nothing about your history here, only that I have seen you post a lot as your name seems to be there quite often. I actually do not pay too much what specific posters are like or what they post, with the exception of Darlo (and I do not know if the current darlos are the same or not) and few others. Anyway just giving a decent reply to me, I am totally ok with you.

Actually, and I am laughing now, I do not even sure what this basement dweller exactly means but I probably quess it right. Yes there are worse names but just the idea of calling names i find a bit bad habit.

I have to leave home, and cannot even watch the match I started the thread about. The scheduling/motivation issue I leaf for you and others to discuss.

GL to you Marin and others.

Yes name calling is a bad habit but this forum is infested by semi-illiterates who can only write "MUG" in every other sentence. I feel that this kind of people do not deserve (or even understand) civility.

thanks, dirkules i don't know how you got to it but thanks Happy

yes kavcic no he can win this event because he needs no preparation or he is extra motivated because he has a shot a stardom and wants to prepare optimally

If Kohlscrieber wasn't there to win the tournament he shouldn't have been there at all. I can understand if the rain throws the schedule way out and puts the final stages back into next week that he has bigger fish to fry. But if he wants to fly to London now then he shouldn't have entered. It demeans the tournament, his opponents and someone else who could be there.
By:
Marin1977

Kohli probably saw the draw and said to himself: "Easy money".

I can understand trying to win your first match and then tanking your second in this instance. He's shown up for the tournament organiser/sponsor, won a match in singles and doubles (with a local) so everyone's happy so far.

Losing to Rosol now seems sensible. A 2nd set retirement would be nice..

Would have thought he'd want to be part of the opening ceremony. But all in all it's just a guessing game and I can't be bothered with that so done a few arbs for a small green all-round, and a very healthy one on a kohly retirement

Mardy? He won't even play at the Olympics.

why should kohlschreiber retire in a tournament he can easy win? just to fly to london and getting bagled in the 2nd round by david ferrer

Have you been in a cave dirkules?

It's the ****ing Olympics on Saturday. The opening ceremony on Friday. A lot of players would certainly prioritize even being part of it higher than potentially winning a **** tournament such as this. A player who has always represented his country in Davis Cup (and done it very well) who is in the form of his life and made his 1st slam quarter final on grass at Wimbledon (where this is played if you are still in that cave) should be relishing the chance. He's 28 so may get one more opportunity, it's not like he hasn't tanked before (eastbourne vs seppi he did 7-5 2-1 ret, the week before Wimbledon)....

That's why there is speculation over how hard he tries. Not hard to comprehend really is it.

It's a guessing game into what is going through his mind at this stage.
By:
jsimpson67.

And the reason he may retire instead of just losing is because he wouldn't have to play the doubles after..
